to answer Svendar's question the reason there are still monkeys is because we are not descended from them in a litteral sense but we did share a common ancestor millions of years ago and those animals spread around the planet and and over hundreds of years adapted to their new suroundings, which is how we came in!

Why is it that Bobert was the first one who went around answering this question without attacking the credibility of the bible? The reason that Adam and Eve are always portrayed as white is because you're always looking at portrayals drawn by white europeans. Adam and Eve were most likely middle brown, or somewhere thereabouts. And like Bobert said, their color is never even mentioned in the bible.

I don't attribute things I don't know the answers to to supernatural occurences. I think that is the easy way out, and a cheap way to think about the majesty of the universe. The bible is nice and all, but it was written when people had no conception of how grand and complex the universe is. I think abandoning the practice of attributing things to the supernatural is the next step in the progression of human thought.

So what is written in the bible I believe is false. People were not just placed on the earth. When humans were in their primitive form, they migrated. Some stayed in africa, others headed north, and even crossed to america on a bridge of ice. With vast distances seperating these groups, of course there are going to be differences. With the dismissal of the bible, its not necessary to speculate why there were not consequences of intensive incest and inbreeding, because it never occured.

LOL now I am going to be an idiot and say that the bible's interpretation actually could hold more water because the two humans could have later split into groups and wandered the earth, eventually developing differences, and leading jesus of whoever to have a semetic appearence, while the people that worship him today are often white.

Now it's my turn to draw some flak. I choose to believe the Bible for a number of reasons. One of these is because it's what I want to believe. Another is that I find a number of things associated with the big bang implausible. I also find that a number of the people who are actually Christians, (not the ones who claim to be and act otherwise) are the kind of people I like to associate with. I've also heard of studies debating the accuracy of carbon testing although I've never actually managed to locate these studies, but then I think I spent a grand total of 5 minutes searching so it's questionable whether I looked in the right places. Another reason is that I've studied science enough to know that often when the results aren't necessarily conclusive scientists interpret the results in the way that supports their point of view. Both sides are guilty of this practice. I could quote a study as saying that children raised by same-sex couples are 300% more likely to be the victims of incest than children raised by heterosexual couples. This may be true, but because of the views of it's source (the family resource council) I question its validity.

The brightest scientific right now, Hawkins, has an I.Q of 170 (the max possible I.Q is 180) and he has a big problem with the big bang and he's questioning the validity of some elements found in the evolution theory... So I invite people to be a bit humble concerning those questions, we're having fun here... Hope that explain a bit my simplistic answers (and by the way, who told us that the real answers concerning those matters are always supposed to be complicated?)
