You would have to approach the relative. Unless your mother and another relative approved of it, you have few other options. Running away from home is a mistake, do not do it. Foster care for the most part is not a very happy upbringing for most kids. As for now, you have to abide by the rules your mother sets and just swallow it even if it seems unfair.
