Panic Attack

I was in my room alone. I was having upsetting thoughts of fear. Then next thing you know- I just had no control of my body. I couldn't breathe through my nose, and I felt like someone was choking me. This is the first time this has happened to me. Was it a panic attack??
Do you think it's normal?

Yeah that sounds like a panic attack.
it might, this is serious, no kidding. If you happen to have them more often and get more severe, go see the doctor! They will definitely help you with them, as they did for me.

Hope you get better :)
Sounds like a need for Prozav, Tony.
yeah that would def. be a panic attack. I had something similer happen to me well I have had panic attacks but my worst one latley was an anxiety attack that is different from a panic attack because you don't feel that fear that you do with a panic attack but anyways I was at a ballroom comp. and just collapsed while watching and started hyperventilating and got numb EVERYWHERE it was so bad that I couldn't open my hands because of the numbness in them. that was one of the worst ones I have had.
oops I ment to add what helped me :P luckily one of the girls that was with us recongnized it as an anxiety attack and just sat behind me and hugged me and had me breath with her and try to calm down it was really strange because I was thinking normal and trying to calm down but my body wasnt letting me thats what make them so scary because you can think clearly (most of the time or at least for me) but you cant control your body
epilepsy

weirdo
You know my brother told me when he was in Kuwait that ppl there called it J'athom
It's some kind of Demon or Jinn; it happens to you some time be4 you sleep or watching TV at night.
Whatever you do,DONT TAKE SSRI's Paxil,Lexapro, prozac etc... I never once had a PA until about this summer. I was taking a pretty intense math class and I guess I just developed too much stress and sure enough I started to get them. They were so bad that I would be driving a car and it was like I wasnt in control. Like I had an out of body experience for about 5 mins. I also had times where I couldnt breath in or out through my nose, mostly at night, and I would think about it more and more and then get really bad chest tension which turned into full blown PA's that lasted for 15-20 mins. This can be caused by many things. Stress being one of them but also, the way you eat. When your body is low on glucose your brain sends adrenaline through your body which then makes all your blood from your legs and stomach rush to all of your upper body muscles which then helps give your brain the glucose that is left in your blood. This is what causes all the numbness and tingling feeling. I am telling you, I am a firm believer that your mind can heal just about anything. I did a lot of research and had a lot of PA's while doing it because thats all I was thinking about. The only thing I can tell you is consult your Dr ask for advice but dont be in a hurry to take meds ie paxil, prozac, etc... They can honestly make you worse and are hard as hell to get off them. Another thing that you might be able to do is go to the ER one night and ask for a RX of xanex. This is a med that is a quick fix but can result in addiction. Just knowing that I had some helped a lot with the PA's. Hypoglycemic is another concern. Low blood sugar( glucose as I stated above). Try snacking throughout the day and see how you feel. This may sound weird but this is one thing I learned during my research. When someone develops PA's, it is when your subconscious mind is triggered by something that makes you think that you are in danger. Sometimes it may be nothing at all and thats why you have to retrain your mind to understand that its ok. When you think you cant breath you really can and your mind wont let you stop breathing. And you wont die from a panic attack. The thing that is actually going on with your body during a PA and heavy breathing, is that you are taking in too much oxygen, when you start breathing heavy your body will to close off its intake of oxygen so it can balance out with C02. This is why they tell you to breath in a bag. When this happens, try breathing slowly, and maybe holding it in for a 3 count. All you have to do is put yourself in situations that trigger your anxiety and your mind will eventually retrain it self. I have been PA free for about 2 months now. I know that doesnt seem like a long time but let me tell you, I know I am better because when I had anxiety, my body felt very strange all the time. I would wake up with chest tension and I would have horrible chest pains. Just keep your mind busy and try to stay positive. It does get better. Sorry this is so long, I just wanted to help because I honestly thought they were going to ruin my life when I started to get them. Now I am back to normal and it actually makes me appreciate how good I feel each day now. Hope this helps.
I've had those before. When that happens, just run. That's what I do. Run back and forth through your house.
could be a panic attack. or (and im sure SOMEONE will flame me for this buuuttt...) it could be paranormal. i have seen a demonic possession before and this is often times what they look like also. if your curious about that just IM me on aim yahoo or meebo at "sorakeyking" or you can email me at sorakeyking@gmail.com
