I got my new US$2500 sword in the mail yesterday!

it is so beautiful! the blade sings. i have been polishing it all evening. can't wait for lessons on sat. do you want to see pictures? the metal is cool to the touch. running my fingers over the harmon i can hardly feel the ripple. my whole body goes tense when i touch it. the hilt feels like it belongs in my hand. aluminium & tamahagane reinforced bamboo handle, coarse weave papyrus handle collar, bronze handle cap, bronze & steel alloy tsuba. the saya is black silk with a bronze decoration of a japanese honeysuckle vine 1/3 along it. i feel like even the air is not worthy of touching its edge.

absolutely beautiful.

Congratulations, Shaka. I would love to see pictures of it. I can almost see it now with the description you left - simply fantastic. My husband would truly appreciate it. :)

sometimes.... something is beautiful & you look at it & it steals your soul away. for some its shoes, for some its cars...

i have mounted it on my wall. i don't feel like i can touch it. all my m8s came over & their jaws where cleaning my floor. its just beautiful. i think this was a worthwhile expense. i quit iaido too.

i have admiration for weapons too. if you're asking if it's normal to feel that way with an inanimate object, i think it is. i don't own a high-end sword like yours but i still like it. that feeling will go away after a few weeks or so.

$2500 on a sword is an extremely worthy investment. Swords are beautiful things and are excellent for Tsufiku and beheading.
