I really dont see why you are so bothered.
Store staff who try to be friendly are much better than those who just take your payment and stare into space, staff often ask if you require anything else before they hit the total button on the till and again I cannot see the problem you have with this approach.
The term hun is not used in the UK (probably because it is a word used to describe people of Germanic origin) so if you visit London you will have to tolerate being called "love"
