I'm concerned about the low self-esteem part. After 42 years you should be out of that phase. You might be clinically depressed or have another sort of chemical imbalance.

I think it's pretty normal to have times where you just can't seem to get it right with the other sex. And that that affects your self-esteem is normal, too.
