Is It Normal?
What do you think?
god and virgina tech
i dont believe in a god or gods.but i know many of you do.so why didnt your god(whichever one you worship)stop the massacre at virgina tech? what would it have taken for a being who supposedly created all time space and matter to have stopped some pimpled faced loser from killing 32 people?

that is why i hate religion----it makes all kinds of mealy mouthed promises but is impotent to have any impact whatsoever on this planet.

why doesnt God Jesus Buddha Mohammad Krishna or any of the other hundreds of gods that are out ever stop any of this bad stuff from happening?

if a god wont protect innocent people what good does it do to believe in it?

and if a god existed but simply refused to help innocent people why does he deserve your worship?

God, gives us free will! And, when it's a person's time to go we can't stop that!

God knew what this guy was going to do! But I think you need to read the book of Job!

God doesn't do things like what happened at Virginia Tech....that's Satan and his demons!
You will never get a rational argument from beliefs based on faith.

'The crop is good because of God's grace; or the crop is bad because of God's will.'

No matter what happens, there is always a reason for it that reaffirms the faith.

You are trying to squeeze orange juice from an apple. It's not that apple juice is bad, you're just looking for something else.
You are scum (and so am I). Christians, Athiests, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, they are all scum. In the eyes of God, we are worthless filth, worse than dirt. You have defied Him and rejected Him. You curse His name, and ask for happiness. Everyone on earth deserves to be thrown into the deepest pit in hell, everyone has sinned, and that is enough to deserve death.

But He loves you. Despite the evil, wicked, sinful nature of the people of this world, God still loved us. He loved us enough to die to take the penalty for our sins.

If there were no tragedies, we could not know joy. If there were no pain, we could not know happiness. God gave us free will, and we use and abuse it.

"You are trying to squeeze orange juice from an apple." I am totally going to use that phrase every chance I get.
How dare you try to lessen peoples faith during a tradegy such as this with your stupid remarks. How about instead of blaming God for people who were murdered by a man with obvious major problems, you thank him for the ones who he saved, and ask him to be with those in need. God deserves everyones faith, and if you dont want to give it then keep your mouth shut. This is a time of mourning, not debating God. Have a little decency. People turn to God in times like these and they dont need people like you taking his comfort away from them. PS thats not an "is it normal" question, its just pure dumb.
People will believe what they let themselves believe... don't worry about it.

I imagine in times of tragedy family members of the victims will find solace in a god if they believe in them, there is little harm in that.
free will..blame adam and eve.. i'm not religious but apparently when adam bit the apple he wasn't supposed to and that fcuked it all up for us..now we have to wait trillions of years for the second coming so it can start all over again and peace on earth and all that..Nobody can stop tragedies happening..if it happens it happens and it's not Gods fault. The world is the way it is because of man..we spoil it for ourselves..not us personally, u know what i mean.
I agree with you whattheF. Totally. and i cant really think of my own words to put here right now. I mean i dont believe in god or whatever, but why make such a post about this.
and actually i correct myself, its not that i dont beleive in god, its that im not sure if i do.
I try to, but it is hard sometimes.
According to the Bible, the Christian god would have enjoyed this massacre. In the Bible, God killed hundreds of thousands for the most minor infractions imaginable. The Christian god himself is a psychopath, so he would have taken joy in what this Korean man did. In fact, you might go so far as to say that the killer was just doing what God would have done.
God is Love people, hope you all know by now, in our human relationships, love is not imposed, love has to be voluntary, or is not love.
God loves each and every one of us, but love is not real if is imposed.
So God, in his infinite wisdom, gave us free will to voluntarily love him back with our actions.
Some people like that Corean guy that made the mess, they donīt know that,
and they wonīt get the grace of nirvana after death.
Only God is a fair judge, we human beings have small brains, on which justice is but a vague perception, so we canīt judge other people for their actions, only each of us know what is good or bad to ourselves.
People like that will probably get another chance in another life though, or not, I canīt tell you that, only God.

Besides all this, I can honestly say Iīm not a religious person, I am against all forms of cults or religious groups. Actually Iīm against any movement that makes a distinction between us, we are all humans you know, we are all the same, from a Somalian Kid, to the president of the UN, they are the same, in different circumstances.

"We are all the same and one together" I say loudly, treat others as you would treat yourself, and that my friends, is the love Iīm talking about.

Donīt do good to people that are good to you, do good SPECIALLY to people that are bad to you, and that is the way of the true salvation. it is the only way to fight Evil, with love.

You canīt fight Evil with Evil, that is just President Bush talking.
Ooops, I previously said: "Dont do good to people that are good to you...", you get my point ha??

I mean, do good to everybody!! thats what Iīm saying, specially to those who treat you wrong, as hard as it sounds.
I preach this things, but I confess I have a hard time in daily practice, it is difficult, but I believe is the only way to a greater good.
We are not all the same. People in the same circumstances often times have vastly differing lives and values. But, if you are speaking on the outer edge of the most generalized actions of humanity, then, yes, I might be able to agree.
Sometimes.
First of, thanks for replying, I like to debate different points of view, even the most wise can contradict themselves in the future, so I would like to hear things that may change my mind, by association with personal experience. I would like to have the same effect in others so we can all grow in wisdom.
Now, I think you have a good point, because I too think that everybody comes with specific set of genes that are different between one another, is like: eye colors, body figure, hormones, intensity of emotions, whatever, we are superficially different, that is a fact.
However, by the universal law of duality, everything has a counterpart (ying/yang, day/night, good/evil, man/women, I can keep going...).
So, if there is matter, there is also anti-matter; we normally call the anti-matter of each human being by different names: spirit, soul, life, aeon, etc.
So knowing we have a soul (life energy), the unification of all anti-matter is what we call God.

The soul is what we may call "trapped" in our bodies, and our bodies are different, as you previously said, but is the soul that survives, and its destiny is determined by the actions of our Earthly bodies (Karma).
So when we say, that we are the same in the eyes of God, it is because we come from the same energy (life), and we actually have an equal soul as others.
But it is our actions and words tha
... But it is our actions and words that strenghten or weaken our souls.

Shalom
Just to clarify a little bit, I believe our current minds are just a temporary concience of an eternal soul.
But you can use this temporary concience to take control of your soul, otherwise, it looses its identity and vanishes.
My outlook is much the same as yours on this topic. I was just saying what i thought about one of your points. As for your responses, I agree with most of them. It is nice to see that there is some people on this site who are smrt and articulate, and don't just follow what others tell them blindly.
Free Will.
Thanks dude, it always makes me feel good to find people that keep an open mind in these matters, after all, we are all in the same quest for the true realization of ourselves; the search for truth and happiness.
ok god dosnt stop things like this from happening all the time. Thats not the way it works. God is like a mentor. He is always there when you need him. You go go to him and pray to him. You can ask him for forgivness or for more strength. He is always there to listen.
This is the worst post I've read.
What do you want? Drugs, sex and prostitution? Thats lame.
This post is about: "How does God fit in the Evilness of the World", and I say this is a very good question that needs elaboration.
A personal God doesnt exist so get over and try and find meaning in your life. ps. if god dids exist you cant have free will any becuase the abrahmic God is meant to be Omniscient which means god knows every thing thats going to happen thus abolishing free will for a deterministic reality with no free will or choice because all time is predecided by the creater of time which is God
No man, you got it wrong, like most people. The thing is, God is love, God is creation, and God shows you what is love with the feeling you get in a relationship, that is the closest to God most people get.
But Love is not imposed, is voluntary, so we have free will, to love God (creation itself) voluntarily.
Love is life, love is creation, hate is flesh, hate is destruction. So if we choose hate and destruction over love and unification we are doomed for destruction.
If humanity choose love, we might have a chance after all.
Its verginia tech not vergina tech
unless u trying to spell a pussy but still in both cases u speltit wrong!
Soz Virginia tech ..
Damn, dude. I am Hedonistic and Agnostic (the best ways I can describe my fucked-up self), and your last few posts have definitely helped me to put into a verbal form the feelings and thoughts that have been in me for some time now. Thanks.
But u suck on independant thinking. re: Global Warming. What a ruination of an independant mind.
why does everyone insist on spelling virginia virgina? it looks like vagina for gods sake lmao
evry thing happens 4 a reason
Assuming you believe in Christianity, God, Jehova, gave us a free will. It is the human at fault, not the god. He made the choice, God did not interfere.
God did this; ask the beautiful at westboro church (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westboro_Baptist_Church)
forreal lol

Well the answer to your question is very simple.God gave everyone what we call 'free will'.we choose all that we do good, and unfortunately all that we do bad.

-dirt dobbler
if you believe in the christian bible that is discredited!

gl ~Oro~
you fucking cunt.

God (only one, anyone who opposes this will burn in hell), doesnt want these things to happen, he even tries to stop them. ever hear of a think called concious? its God telling you to not be a jackass and do something stupid.

Christians FTW!
if I were to believe in god I would hope that he could do more for his will than whisper in some crazy person's head...
