OK, nice summer day, decided to take my bike out and go for a spin. What could go wrong?

I'll tell you what went wrong.

Some damn wasps made a nest under my bike seat, unbeknownst to me. All of a sudden, a couple minutes down the road, I was engulfed in a shitstorm of wasps, and got stung.

Not to mention my bike seat had become quite brittle and hard as a rock, so my ass is extra sore.

Now I'm afraid of bikes. And wasps. I fear there's wasps lurking underneath anything and everything.

Is this even real?? This is like some kind of nightmare that I can't wake up from.

IIN?
Is It Normal?

Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-air

In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"

I whistled for a cab and when it came near the
License plate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-air!

I pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby "Yo, homes smell you later!"
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-air

"Shoulda woulda coulda," means I'm out of time
Coz "Shoulda woulda coulda", can't change your mind
And I wonder, wonder, wonder what I'm gonna do
"Shoulda woulda coulda" are the last words of a fool

I'm not sure what you're asking. Is it normal to have an awful day? Yes. Is it normal to get attacked by wasps if you sit on their nest? Yes. Do wasps frequently make nests in bike seats? Probably not.

Not sure why your comment was downrated as this is the only helpful comment on this story so far.

About a lucky man who made the grade. :)

Quite probably my favourite Beatles song. And we're not doing the "choose three" thing with this because I honestly couldn't. If it was "choose ten", I'd still struggle. :P

Haha, I wouldn't be that mean:P! And I'm the same with certain bands as well. It is an amazing song, though:)

I hate wasps. Seriously. Those things are evil. They came from hell. Maybe they're Satan's children.

Sorry to hear that.

It's OK, I guess. I got stung on my middle finger so that's a plus, I can give out a lot of covert 'fuck you's' for the next few days.

Exactly, What is your question?

Why the hell did they sting me when it was MY bike they decided to live under? That's not really fair. My bike, my rules. I wouldn't break into someone's house and shoot them when they came home, so why do the wasps think that they can do this to me and MY bike?

The question is WHYYYYYYYYY???

I understand where you are coming from.
It's normal to be gun shy with an experience like that. I once got into a car accident and it took me months to be comfortable with driving again, I was dead scared of driving in traffic. I've gotten stung by wasps while on a swing set and now I check the chains before I put my hands on them. Our experiences tend to do these things to us. Just give it time, start slowly, check the bike seat continuously and you'll be ok.
