Addicted to Dance Dance Revolution

I'm just a beginner but I've started playing DDR and I am addicted, which is why I've put this under 'Drugs'. Me and my boyfriend went halvsies on a home version, and now I'm kind of worried that it's going to ruin our relationship because mainly all I want to do at his place is play this game. The longest I've played so far is 6 consecutive hours and by the time I'm done I'm a sweaty mess so I have to bring shower stuff with me. I don't know whether this is more of a healthy addiction (even though yeah i know its geeky but its so fun) or an unhealthy one. I hardly bother eating anymore but my muscle tone in my legs has gotten great and I've lost the little pudge in my tummy.

A big problem is that this addiction is goign to get in the way of my drawing time, I'm an animation student and basically I need to draw at least an hour a day. But right now all my free time is playing DDR or finding out more info about it or practicing moves, very sad.

So that's about it, maybe there's other addicts out there who can tell me what to do.
Do you think it's normal?

You'll get over it. Video game addiction happens all the time. Remember Pong, Pac Man, Tetris, etc.? Okay, maybe you don't, but the point is, it's not like a real physiological addiction where your body goes into withdrawals if it doesn't get its fix. You're just in love with the challenge. In fact, maybe the quickest way to get over this habit is to indulge it at every turn.
Is there any way you can eat at least 2 square meals a day?

I think it's a great workout.

Any chance you can add moderation to your habit? If you told yourself, "Okay, I'm only doing DDR for an hour," and the hour was up, would you feel satisfied or depressed that it was over?

Or - can you discipline yourself to use a reward system? "I'll do homework / housework / lifework / for 2 hours, then do an hour of DDR!"
Play the game together, get all dirty together, have some sex together, and then finish up w/ a shower together.

I agree with you and yes it is totally normal. My friends and I play every friday night for 5 hours straight at a regal thearter where we live. I have been playing for 3 months and im on heavy. I played for 5 hours a day but i didn't start on beginner, i started on light. My friends start on atleast light aswell except 2 of them who started on standard. My one friend plays for 16-20 hours a day when he can, he's on heavy aswell. Yes it is addicting we call it our drug. My one friend got "drunk" off it and I got "high" off it. I have played to the point I threw up and i still wanted to play more. One of my other friends played until he passed out for an hour. So yes this is perfectly normal, and everyone should play the game.
of course it normal to be addicted to computer games etc.
it gets in the way of everything but eventually you get bored.

Back in 1995 i was addicted to the megadrive.

HOW OLD IS THAT!!!

I think you should try to limit it to 2-4 hours a day. And call it your workout plan and publish a book about it called dance diet revolution ;).
