Almost every time I notice something, sometimes big and in plain sight, sometimes small and insignificant, I can't help but think about its past. Who had the idea of making this object, who actually made this object, what were they like, what were their thoughts, who they loved, where they lived, etc. Then I wonder how the object got to where it is now. Then inevitably, where it will be in a year, 20 years, 100 years. Who will find this, if anyone. Will it have been forgotten? Will it be treasured? I can't help but think all of this, but it isn't EVERY TIME I see ANYTHING. Just certain things that I don't pick and choose to break down. Is it just me or is this normal?
Do you think it's normal?

from your mode of expression you're obviously generally very sensitive and creative too i'd imagine. You experience a thoughtfulness possibly less common now than of late, and precious for that. If you ever get to be the (possibly successful) historical novelist you'd appear set to become (hey never too old to start) remember where you read it first..! Maybe you're not that normal -- who cares..
I experience this too.
