My friends living in the same hostel block as me walks about semi-naked...i.e walk around bra-less, and some pants-less. Even tho there's rule that no guys are allowed into girls block (duh) they still do come and i've more than once noticed their n**ples are showing thru their shirts. I find it disturbing and embarassed myself especially if its obvious that a guy is around. and further more we're currently living in a conservative country. And we're chinese!!! not whites so its not normal?
Do you think it's normal?

No surprise a muppet like you wouldn't understand this post.
What does this have to do with politics?
You sound like a jobsworth, no offense.

that's how you great lefties reply to the post, in such a civilised way?
I guess it's normal, like i can see where you're coming from. It probly just has to do with your upbringing.
its normal, we're not in the 1930's here are we? lol

im an asian living in aussie and i notice that girls/women here walk naked in shower rooms in places like pools, beaches, etc..
I think that at some point it is a bit provocative, but i also think that they have a right to dress how they like. I think that if it is really a concern to you, you should tell somebody about it. I think you should dress as you wish, and just try to ignore their clothing choices
There is nothing wrong with you being conservative. There is nothing wrong with you feeling uncomfortable in an environment that you are not used to. One thing you can do is remind yourself that people come in all walks of life.
And another thing. Ignore the posters who are throwing insults at you. Especially Orochimaru who passed a personal judgement on you. They are wrong to do so.
Perhaps you have more of a sense of decorum and modesty.

This is not a left/right political issue, which confused some respondents. You mean conservative as in traditional. That is a matter of upbringing.

Not sure if you are overreacting or not. If this hostel is where people sleep, change etc in a common area then you have to expect a certain level of casualness & less privacy.

On the other hand if your roomies are putting on a peep show encouraging boys into the dorm you are right to feel that a line is being crossed and should tell staff.
I'm still laughing at the "what does this have to do with politics?" post....

*sighs*

Dear Poster,

In my opinion I think you are absolutely normal. I am pretty sure now EVERY girl there does this (not sure how many are there), but even if they do, you are different. There are positives and negatives to being different but I don't think this is abnormal at all.

I do wish to ask you a question, to which I don't want a reply simply consider this: Is there a reason why you do not wish to do what the other girls are doing OTHER than being conservative? Maybe shyness or even uncomfortableness with your own body.

Something to think on.
Yeah I think you're conservative --- of your own sexual currency, i mean if these occidental tarts want to devalue their attraction by putting it on show 24/7 -- fck 'em! (well, you probably won't want to, I wouldn't -- y'see a lot of us guys we like things kept a little special..)
I don't think you should generalize color here. I'm white and from what you're talking about I'd be appauled, too. But, the other issue is conformity. The weak ones conform to stupid behavior and you obviously have more class then that.
I've never been to China, so I don't know if it's normal over there or not. Here, people walk around topless (and bottomless) all the time and no one thinks anything of it. I guess it must be a cultural thing.
