I know how you feel. My weakness is certainly long black haired bishonens, I don't think it's weird at all. I'll tell you one thing, I'm not attracted to anyone my age so the only people I can "fangirl" about are anime characters. And I do. As long as you know they're not real and understand that, it's totally fine.

it's not weird at all! i am a hugeee anime lover, and i think allot of the anime characters are hot. just as long as you know that they aren't real and you can't be together. ppl who tell you that it's weird or stupid just don't know how amazing anime is =] so take it from another anime lover that you aren't weird and this is normal

As long as your life doesn't become totally and devoted to the characters it's fine. I'm like that myself. Fangirls and fanboys are really common and it's nothing to be concerned about.

It's like the girls who love Edward Cullen, he's not real but they love him, so why shouldn't we love Sasuke from "Naruto", or Zero from "Vampire Knight"?

It is strange but you have what is called a fetish. Type in Hentai on Google and you'll see hundreds of sites for this very attraction. Nothing unhealthy about it, unless you find yourself unable to have relationships with real people.

I imagine you're young and it might be something you grow out of, particularly when you start taking more of an interest in real men! If you're not young well then it does seem rather unusual, perhaps it's because these characters are portrayed as perfected/flawless/etc?

i used to get crushes on a lot of anime characters, back when i watched toonami. i eventually kinda outgrew it. i still like rurouni kenshin a lot, and i'd have to say kenshin is pretty cute for an anime character :) i'd say you're normal, just as long as you don't take your obsession too far.
