OK so my cousin annoys me with her antics! We are a year apart and she is so self absorbed like not exaggerating. I used to consider her my favorite cousin when we were younger ,but as I've gotten older i realize more and more everyday how she is .It disgusts me honestly. Her mom died (my aunt)when we were younger maybe that has a lot to do with it idk.

Like for example shes so hung up on guys. she will call me crying talking about how some guy she was talking to for like a week broke her heart. I'm like you don't even know what love is and she gets depressed and then texts me like a day later saying go look at the new guy I'm talking to ...in my head I'm like a could care fucking less! I have adult things to worry about grow up!

The thing that annoys me the most is when i need someone to talk to she never knows what to say. while I'm talking to her on the phone she does other things like talk to the ppl around her and doesn't listen to me. I'm like I'm over hear pouring my heart out and your not even listening!!!!!

But it's totally different when she needs my advice I am a very good person with a good heart that gives great advice even if i cant relate ...why doesn't she do the same?

Should i stop talking to her? I want to but then i don't because she's my cousin. Is it normal for me to be so annoyed?

If you give great advice - then tell her to grow up, then hang up the phone! Don't waste your time listening to this drivel go and find something more useful to do with your time eg. watch paint dry.

When she won't do it for you, then don't do it for her!!!!

"she is so self absorbed like not exaggerating"

What does not exaggerating have to do with being self-absorbed?

I think she was saying that SHE is not exaggerating, not her cousin.

Just stop talking to her, if she wont listen to you then you shouldn't listen to her. Also why should you care if her mom died it is her mom not yours, do you think she would care if your mom died? That should just make you appreciate your mom even more. She will eventually grow up when you stop talking to her because it will make her curious as to why you have to stopped listening to her teenage problems. Your cousin will start to change the way she behaves once she has realized that all along she has been behaving like a little brat.

Your cousin sounds a bit like my friend. I think the primary difference here is how you feel about it: I enjoy my friendship with her and she's a valuable part of my life, while you see your cousin as a spoiled brat and wish she would listen to you once in a while. And you're perfectly entitled to feel that way; she does sound like a brat, and if you don't like it or enjoy talking to her anymore, I'd say you'd be well within your rights to break off your friendship with her and not speak to her so much.
