Schizophrenia has many symptoms and one of them is hearing voices. Connexting that voice with the death experience I believe is the last thing to do after excluding all other organic possibilities-like seeing a therapist or better, a doctor. Schizo is a veru common disease (1%of population) and it starts usually around the age of 18 and it is more prevalent in girls. Also it shows a good inheritability (someone in your family has schizo). I would definetely go to the therapist solution to exclude any potent reversible situations (like a tumor) and then go on and make up philosophies and stuff about near-death-experience.

Good luck, and be strong

It doesn't sound normal but I think I'd quite enjoy someone else in my head sometimes.

dude, think about it like this. your mind has created a entirely different persona, because one person canot handle everything itself. so they created someone else for the other thoughts that you mught have. so it's not totally normal, but it's reasonable and in some ways, good. so the thing might not be so bad. it might have been what helped you escape suicidal thoughts

See a doctor or something... if the voice is, well, useful, maybe you should live with it. It's kinda unique experience. But you should tell someone about it, someone who had dealt with that sort of stuff.

Don't listen to Candid she's a qwack. It is basically your bodies defence mechanism. You nearly died by suicide, and your mind doesnt want it to happen again so it created a means to stop further suicide. Think about suicide and I bet the alter-person will think badly of it.

I actually think this is quite plausible and I have several theories on why this happened.

Sometimes when people try to kill themselves another spirit/soul comes into the body instead, someone who is better able to cope with the life circumstances and agrees to carry on in that body instead and finish their life.

In your case I guess you came back or stayed on in addition to this new entity. Alternately they could be an angel/guide who helped saved you and is now guiding/comforting you. They don't sound malevolent.

A similar thing happened to my dad as a child after he nearly drowned. There ended up being 2 souls there but I don't know which one is actually the real him. He was told that he had taken over this body and forced it to keep living, however the original soul was still hanging around.

There are many many stories about this. There was even a show on tv about it.

go to a shrink and do a self-diagnostic test. there like 20 questions and it will help the doctor know if your actually mentally ill or just reeling after depression.

I read on wikipedia some time ago about "Alien hand syndrome". It is not exactly the same thing but I feel it has something in common. It involves one hand doing things on its own without the person even knowing it.

She doesn't really tell me to do anything. She just makes comments on the world, observations, she likes and dislikes things differently than I do. When I'm thinking about things, she makes suggestions, sometimes she even makes fun of stuff I like. That's the thing, it's really like I have a whole different person inside my head.

The first thisng I would do is some research on NDE's (near death experiences). I beleive that is what you have experienced. There is a lot of stuff out there on the subject including others experiences. One thing you MUST do is be willing to accept what they say, good or bad. It is what they have experienced, they were there, you wern't.
I wish you the best.

Maybe you should talk to a trusted therapist. Write a book about it too.

I am. It doesn't work like that. I hear, but it's just like someone else being in the room that doesn't touch you, but talks to you. I know you're probably being sarcastic, but someone might actually want to know.
