Well, Anton Lavey's book was interesting, though it had its strange parts. It's really not nearly as scary as it sounds, and a whole lot more rational than some other religions.
As a Pagan (NOT a Satanist), I do practice magic every now and then. I also use divination to gain insight on problems. I wouldn't call that the black arts, though.
thing is. there is some good in satanism. but it takes a strong willed person to propperly uphold those morals. and people who seek religion usually cant handle that weight.

Here's the thing, I don't know if Anton Szandor La Vey thought of or presented himself as a philosopher but based on his Satanic Bible & church, he's religious. His philosophies were that of a religious nature & The Church of Satan is a church. The Satan Bible turned me on no more than The King James' Version of The Bible or The Book of Mormon or any other religious dogma I've taken time & patience to read. Is it normal to practice the satanic religion? Of course. Does it make you any less a sheep than a god-fearing person? Nope. You've just made up a shepherd different from the one the jesus folk made up.
i read parts of his book it real dumb, one of his rules was "if someone enters your lair, you can rape him" or something weird like that
i think real devil worshiping is much better, trust me if you are going to hell you want get on satan's good side, i personally want do as many evil deeds as possible so that when I die i can become one of satan's favorite demons
