People say it is normal and natural but I dont agree with it. I think it is a private thing and should be done in private. Having a wank is normal and natural but Im not allowed to do that in public am I.

I know, it is not the end of the world if someone in public sees an infant suckin on the ol' tittie. But not everyone likes to be exposed to that and it should not be allowed. Only in private places like the home etc.

Dont act like no one has ever seen a tit before. the majority of the population is used to seeing their mother naked as a child and shouldnt get arroused by seeing a mother take care of her child. I dont think its an apprpriate for restaurants or inside a school but come on- stop being so prude, america! Are we going to let the most natural thing on earth- the caring of an enfant be banned from public?

I think it's completely normal. Why should a mother have to stay home around the clock just to feed her baby. It's just a breast..All women have them and it's not like you haven't seen one before. Maybe some people should cover up a little bit but even if they don't...so what! The baby has to eat.

Bottle feeding doesn't provide the same mother infant bonding as breastfeeding does. I think it's okay to breastfeed in public places as long as you follow proper etiquette. Similar to the public baths in Japan.

I've never been to a public bath in Japan but it sounds like they take it seriously. Here's an article about it.

They have been doing it for many years because in the past most people didn't have baths. It's still done because they like it. It's not a big deal. Just like being in a locker room or using a public restroom.

if there was ever a referendum on this it could just as well double as a survey to see how many true perverts there are

IF YOU DONT CARE THEN DO IT BUT WHEN I TRIED TO DO IT IN FRONT OF PEPOLE I WAS NERVOUS AND I HAVE NEVER DONE IT SINCE.

Most people are probably nervous when they do it the first time, but they eventually get more comfortable with it. It probably takes a few times.

The only way I oppose it is if a mother intentionally exposes her breast to the public just for the sake of getting a reaction out of people.

But I mean, like I said on my first comment on this thread, it's not the end of the world if a mother HAS to feed her baby in public and exposes a part of her breast.

These acts should be done in private. There are public restrooms everywhere in highly to moderately populated areas, while there are many private places one could go in less populated areas. They could serve as a venue if such feeding is absolutely necessary, which it rarely is.

If you should not breastfeed in public, you should eat in public either. Seeing food being stuffed into open mouths and people talking while they chew is pretty unpleasant to see. Breastfeeding is just a baby eating....and they tend to be pretty quiet about it :P

It's just feeding people eat in public every day should we not feed our babies just because of a few seconds/mins of public embarrassment although doing it where there are are kids under the age of 10 is well... frowned on in my opinion

it is normal... but should be used as a last resort... i mean try to carry a bottle of pumped brest milk if u are planing to go out... if not then try to find a less crowded area and cover yourself well..

um..unless u like people staring at ur boobs or watch u breathe feed i think the only place that would be not abnormal to show ur boobs is a strip club so try going there and the u wont have any stress lol

How would anyone deny a mother the right to feed their own child! Who cares about a saggy breast being flashed, I would be more upset to hear a child screaming with hunger because mommy is too embarassed about someone seeing her breasts!

Why should a mother be told she can only breast feed her child at home? Today there are privacy shields designed specifically for mothers who need to feed their baby whilst out in a public place (arguably that's going too far but that's a another story!) so why shldn't a mother feed her baby wherever the need? We are not talking the ridiculous little britain scenario where a mother breast feeds her thirty something son and then proceeds to fill the restaurant milk jug with breast milk, we are talkin a normal feeding of a baby in public that is all!

As to the first argument posted on here - wanking is neither normal nor natural but in essence an act of homosexual sex as it does not require another person's involvement - that said it is up to you what you do in your home but don't use stupid arguments like that for a serious discussion!

As to the saggy boobs comments - if you don't want to see a woman's saggy boobs don't look at them! You shouldn't be staring at a woman breastfeeding in public anyway! Let us not get any more prudish than we are - already we think nakedness on a beach or whilst swimming is unnatural why take it any further?

It's easy to avoid other people eating in public, but breast feeding in public is kinda hard to avoid (makes me uncomfortable) Sorries but i think it should be private in my opinion, Freedom of speech ^_^

I know it's natural, but so is going #2. No one wants to be subjected to that. Just because people don't want to see you breastfeeding in public doesn't mean you have to stay home round the clock. You can pump your breast milk into a bottle, take the bottle with you and the kid, and when it's time to feed the kid, you can find a private place to whip your boobs out, or you can give the kid the bottle with the breastmilk or formula in it. It makes people uncomfortable, and drives patrons away from businesses, which is why most businesses require nursing mothers to use a mother's room (different than a restroom). It's not appetizing or classy to be sitting in a restaurant and see some woman sitting with her boob hanging out and her kid noisily slurping away. What's worse is when the kid is over 6 mo. old.

Oh - forgot... I don't think it's BAD to breastfeed, but I also don't think it's BAD to bottlefeed (breastmilk). I was bottlefed, not breastfed, and my mother and I have a very close relationship, we never had any "bonding issues". My brother was also bottlefed. Same story. My dad was adopted and had to be fed formula, he turned out normal, and has a good relationship with his mom. My mom's mom has implants (I know, grandma with fake boobs) and since they were done back in the day, it was impossible for her to breastfeed, so my mom had to have formula too. My mom and her mom are bestfriends. I don't think that the occasional bottle in public as opposed to 100% breast is going to impede any sort of bonding between mother and child. Besides, what about dads? Can't dads feed the kids too? It seems more kids need more father-bonding.

um i saw it in church. plus, one prof in my school does that.........not in class she's on maternity leave but she still hang's out at the daycare at school and she did it at lunch on the quad
