Cant swallow

I'm talking about pills here. I absolutely cannot swallow any type of medicine or anything in a pill form. I've tried every trick in the book to swallow pills. I am a runner and sometimes when im injured i have really sharp pains in my legs and one of my fellow runners gives me an aspirin or something and i take it and try to swallow it with water but after a few tries i just end up spitting it out. Ive seen people take like 3 pills with NO water!! And i know the older you get the more pills you have to take to stay healthy because i see old people have a bunch of pills, im not going to be able to take them. Is it normal to not be able to swallow pills even small ones?
Do you think it's normal?

It's all in your head -- which shouldn't surprise you since that's where your throat begins.
Lots and lots of people share your problem, which is good news.
Google "can't swallow pills" and you will get a couple hundred thousand hits. Have you tried a few hundred of them yet?

This one looked like a good starting point:

Good luck!
Jim its not in his head so don't give him that bullsh** i have had this problem for many years and its not in my head!!!! I'm so tired of all you people tell other people with sicknesses and problems that its all in our heads!!! Try swallowing the pills with a piece of cheese or bread that usually helps me...
Try putting the pill inside some pet food (meat). This works for both my cats and dogs, maybe it will work for you too.
Pet food?
