CNN & Politics bringing me down?
61% Normal

OK, well ever since the Vice Presidential Debates and the recent Presidential Debates, I have been practically in love with politics, and what is basically going on with the 2 candidates that are running (Obama vs. McCain).

But there is a problem. I check CNN like every few minutes when I'm using the computer; I simply must know if anything has changed in the race for the White House, or if anything major is happening. Trust me, I go on CNN a lot! I think about the race, and form ideas about what is happening and I also calculate the chances of Barack Obama winning the race (Yes, i'm a big Obama fan lol). But I think it's starting to get to be a little much now. Considering Election Day is about 3 weeks away, I am too involved with this politics sh*t, and it's driving me nuts; I just have to know what's going on 24/7!

I am going for a political science degree in college however. And of course, staying up to date with the news is always good. I'm just really confused and was wondering if my situation was normal or not. Anyone else have this kinda problem?

Is it normal?
Do you think it's normal?

I have the same problem with a few websites including this one. I check this site like 4-5 times during the day, and also check my stock portfolio and news sites very frequently, especially these days. It is a bit of a problem.

like you, i work on a computer, so it is too easy to do this all during the day.

it would be better if we were construction workers or doing other non-deskbound jobs - then we would not be tempted to go to these websites all day long.
I watch the news and Glenn beck everyday, so I mean I don't see why it's a problem. I'm taking argument-based research though at school, so it really got me into politics since we have a debate about what was on the news the night before in class.
be like me and rid politics from your life, thats what i did, i am now 100%% politics free

if other people bring it up i'll throw in my 2 cents, (which is fuck politics), but other than that FUCK POLITICS
AND I BELIEVE IN ANARCHY SO THATS MY POLITICAL POSITION
blah blah blah. who cares?!...watch some mtv or something.
I'm a political junkie too. Sadly the majority of Americans don't give a sh*t who runs the country. Case in point: 8 years of George Bush. They are probably the same people that think fox is fair and balanced lol.

So, no you are not normal, but in a good way.
Totally normal. Though I stick slightly more to the BBC and international relations.
If you're into politics then you should find an unbiased news source. CNN is totally biased, as well as MSNBC, FOX, CNBC and all the rest of the media giants. What's really happening in Washington or anywhere else around the world for that matter will not be revealed to you no matter how many hours you sit watching CNN...in fact, it will have the opposite effect. You will become distracted by all their unnecessary coverage of pointless distracting trivial nonsense, as opposed to a realistic and comprehensive investigation into the real picture. What offends me is how these networks constantly proclaim themselves 'unbiased' and 'comprehensive' when in reality they are not even close to it.
Then how do I go about finding out the truth about what's really going on in Washington?
