just be yourself. stop worrying if you need to tell jokes or not. do what you feel.

I do that too when im nervous or mad or overly happy. you just need to chill out and be yourself.

Try having actual conversations. People may think you're funny but you're not going to be taken seriously if you're just Funny Man. The Funny Man in a group is the one who cracks all the jokes and is fun to be around but without any substance. Perhaps you're a loner and don't want relationships and this is your defense mechanism or maybe you do want relationships or afraid to have one, either way, you're fine being Funny Man, but one day you're going to realize nobody really knows you and nobody really cares. You don't have to give up your humor. Just lace your humor in your conversation and you'll be thoughtful but also lighthearted.

people do that sometimes when they're nervous or want to hide who they really are/ how they feel. find people you're comfortable with and you should be able to relax more.
then again, maybe you're justa bit of a smartarse, if so don't worry, lots of people think it's cool :)

Lately I've been working on just chatting, and saying things sarcasticlly only some of the time, because when I'm texting/e-mailing no one knows if I'm serious or not.

I know exactly how you feel because I am the same way. As for if it's normal I don't know. Just try to relate stuff to yourself when you talk to people or ask questions.

I'm the same dude. I do it so much it gives me a fucking headache sometimes and then I really need to chill (like a previous poster said). Don't stop it though. Cynics and sarcastic people are fucking funny. Just take some time out and relax by yourself sometimes. That's what I do. Otherwise I do my own freekin' head in.

I'm the same way. I have a really hard time taking anything seriously. Some of my friends do get really irritated because they say that "everything is a joke to me." I can't help it. I'm always sarcastic about everything. Gets me in trouble, too ]:

You probably have OCD or something. Maybe you're one of those people with a brilliant mind but it's just restless and it's constantly making humorous observations about life (you'd really like Demetri Martin). You seem like in intelligent guy. Find out what triggers this. Talk to a counselor and if needs be, take medication. Find a way to occupy your busy mind, a way to distract it.

im like that and it gets me in a lot of shit tbh. ive learnt to never be sarcastic with your family or teachers cos they hate it when your funnier and just damn smarter than them :s also, a relationship that will be able to fit your personality will come along so dont supress your personality, as this world already has enough boring halfwits without you adding to their number.
