Today many americans and (maybe some european countries, maybe) swear a lot when they talk. It may be to demean someone but usually its just casual like its everyday language. When ever they are talking they may say "sh*t" in a sentence or "f**k" like its no big deal. Isn't that wrong that society has become so bad that the so called "swear words" are used so many times in one day?! Its rediculous, what do you think is causing the blasphemy? I kinda have the same problem and I know its bad, but is it normal to swear so much, should I stop?
In Australia we now have a large amount of priveledged white kids who speak as though they grew up in South Central L.A because they think it's tough to mimic a culture that has fuck all to do with them.
When Japanese people come to Australia they always learn how to swear fist because their language doesn't contain any swear words and they think it's a novelty.
So if you can't beat 'em join 'em just try to use swear words that are culturally authentic to you so we don't all end up sounding like Ice-Cube!
Seriously, I am trying (two children - passing a very bad habit on). I've managed to take GD out of my vocabulary (several years ago) and I'm working on using "fuck" only in the bedroom. :)
oh no im goingblind from the devil.
p.s. this has nothing to do with this story sorry lol
bye :P
Online however, it's a whole new ball game.
I live in an area where most people know french as a second language, and if i swear in french, it's bad. But when I swear in spanish or german, or japanese... no one cares. I dont get society.
ma mamma says that its duh devils music
Besides, if you're letting language offend you instead of the message itself being communicated, you're looking at the wrong thing to blame.
I once heard an explanation from a supposed etymologist that it all arose from the medieval conflicts between the Normans and Saxons. The %u201Cacceptable%u201D words all have Norman derivations, while the short, punchy versions are Saxon.
So it all started with deliberate, systematic cultural repression, and remains as an outlet to express rebellion.
It is a natural part of language, people become desensitized to swearing as it is used mroe often, but new swear words arise to take the place.
"Damn" and "Crap" used to be heinous, now people wouldn't bat an eyelid. In a decade or so, fuck will probably be normal.
just don't be a fucking pansy-ass about it. People from all cultures all over this world use swear words.
It's a load of shit how people can deem certain words as okay to say, yet others are offensive...GO FUCK YOURSELF if you don't like swearing.
phuck.phuck.phuck.
lol
also, one of my teachers who is from the stone age told us that back in the day 'hey' was as bad as saying f**k or sh*t. nowadays 'hey' doesn't mean much.
Moreover, [i think] swears are looked down upon are because they aren't the queen's english, for lack of a better term.
eg. i fucking well hate that little shithead carries more stenght than i jolly well dislike that anoying chap.
Fu##ing wrong topic.
Sorry everyone.
Not that I realy care since ye all donīt know me and even do not saw my face.
I believed it would be disrespect since I cannot erase the comment and so i decided to apologize.
I am a Taiwanese and I hate to be called a "Chinese". I do have some Chinese friends. Even though I enjoy being with my Chinese friends, but I just hate the Chinese people. I don't use the word "hate" in front of them, and I think it is a way of showing my respect. Thankfully, none of them ever claimed "Taiwan is part of China" in front of me neither.
Blasphemy!?
Let me guess, a devout christian?
Nothing wrong with 'swear words', what is important is what the person IMPLIES by saying it.
Get over yourself, for F*CKS SAKE!
China for 5 years.
Japan for 2 years.
America for 18 years.
And WITHOUT A DOUBT, Chinese people are the least trustworthy, the most evil, the most disgusting, the rudest, the loudest, the most illogical, the most corrupt, and the most arrogant...humans I've ever met.
Having moved to China from Japan, I arrived with a warm heart and a smile, trusting them and respecting them just like they were Japanese people.
But I shocked at the horror that is their "society". After the first 2 years of trying to love them... my thick skin had been warn down. They have earned only hate from my heart.
I can't respect a culture that isn't respectable.
Chinese culture is absolutely the WORST culture I've ever encountered.
I think it's normal we swear, maybe you didn't notice as much as a child because people refrained from doing so in front of you. If you watch old films, you can see people swore a lot before too.
Maybe you think that about the Chinese, but where were you born? I'm sure if you were born in China with very little money, you would turn out just the same way. When they see people of different color or people who speak differently, they most likely see you as a bag of money because that's just how they grew up thinking. You think everyone has to be nice to you when they are just barely getting by life?
Yes it's different in Japan because Japanese have higher standards of living there. They get to live comfortably unlike most Chinese. Chinese people are strongly influenced by where their elders say and sometimes friends. They are highly traditional people that follow what was given to them. There is little change that occurs here and you just have to accept people are they way they are here.
I don't understand why someone so close-minded would ever consider traveling and living in a foreign country for several years. Of course you can't respect their culture, you don't understand it.
watch this video, but its hard to watch.
