I just came from a Walk around where I live and came across a Dove on the ground trying to fly it was an adult male so it did not fall out of a nest I picked him up to see whats wrong with him he had blood comeing from the beak struggeling to breath I held it upside down seemed to help patting him on his back he must of had a lot of blood in his lungs. but it did not last long he started to cough and he started to have a fit than that was it he died in my hands. I don't know why but I cried for him. Have any one heard of this before is it Normal?

That's must be really horrible to see, I'm sorry :( my friend saw something like that once, and it really upset her, it's perfectly normal to feel unhappy about it, empathy like that is a good thing.

its normal. i once took a picture of a lady bug because i got so close, then when i turned my back for a second, someone stepped on it. i keep the picture even when i run out of memory because i realized i would be the only one that would have something to remember it by.

in your case, you cried because you witnessed death, even though you tried to prevent it. truth is, we're not god, even if you dont believe him. we can't fix what we did not make.

And you are crying over insects and dying birds?

it is above normal it is really a heart touching incendent as i was reading your happened story i was almost about to cry.

but i had never faced such an incendent if i really faced such an incendent and unable to save it's life then i will may be crying for days for being so helpless for such a life

And the person here did not find a dying soldier, child or civillian coughing up blood.

Loss of life in any case is bad, animal or otherwise.

In this case, the person tried to save it, and connected with the creater, and as such, it was a great loss.

They tried to save it, and failed.
The fact that something you tried to help is gone forever, not matter what you did, is a terrible feeling indeed.

Please, I have empathy for birds and insects and all animals I cry when they die, I think that when we spend time with some creature or someone even just for a minute we have empathy when they die if we do not know the soldier I don't think we would care, we never knew them or spent 20 seconds with them so therefore there is no empathy for the soldiers.

I would just like to say how happy it makes me that there are still people like you around. It disgusts me how many people I know would deliberately torture that bird if they got their hands on it.

I can't say I've ever heard of a disease or something that would cause that to happen, but the fact that you took the time to care for it is a great thing!

Watching anything die is a very emotional experience. I held my mouse while it died in my hands and it really made me realize the fragility of life and the brief amount of time we get in this world. Don't worry, it's normal.

Hey man, do you really think humans have some privilege over other forms of life, beyond a better predatory aptitudes? Man can change its destiny by thinking, other animals don't. And the 'normal' human will just blotch and throw in the gutter that chance. If men get in wars and get killed, it's up to them. A non-human animal is more apt to be pitied than many humans.

I've had a very similar experience with a wood pigeon that I got to "know" after more than a year. It made me cry too.
Life is so fragile and fleeting and it broke my heart to see him go.
