Diet pills, safe or not?
26% Normal

Okay, so I know eating healthy and working out is the only perfectly healthy way to loose weight but what about all these knew diet pills they have out these days? Are the ones made with natural ingrediants safe? I don't consider myself to be totally "fat" but I could def. stand to loose a good twenty pounds. I currently diet and work out but it only helps for so long and then I get stuck in a rut. One of my friends has an uncle who owns a gym and sold her these new metabolism booster pills she offered to sell to me for thirty dollars. Normal? Safe? Not?
Opinions are appreciated.
Do you think it's normal?

I dont know much on the topic but you should definitely do it the healthy way. No diet pills. My uncle made a good point. He says they're probably just filled with caffeine. that substance (caffeine) only makes you hyper and doesn't make you feel hungry which is true but taking that much caffeine in thise pills aren't good so that isn't a good way to go. Just like most commercials of the sort (and commercials in general) they are scams. I wouldn't go down that road. If your friends uncle owns a gym, then sign up there and see if he can help.
Excellent advice from Smithee.

It is best to avoid diet pills or any diet supplements. Find some form of exercise you enjoy. I hate the indoors and much prefer to get outside to jog a couple miles while listening to music (my walkman). You have to find an exercise you like, to stick to it. I hate gyms and picked up some free weights for home. Sit-ups are key, a couple minutes a day will work wonders and flatten the stomach area.

Try to eat small portions and cut out all sweets, all fried foods, all sugar drinks, and go very light on pasta and particularly bread. Best to cut out bread too. Take a multi-vitamin daily if you are cutting back on food. Also, take a fiber supplement to cleanse your body and to make you feel good daily. The brand "Metamucil" is excellent, it comes in orange flavor and you just add a spoonful to a glass of water and mix it, thats it. Few people get enough fiber, especially when dieting. Also, drink 1-2 litres of water a day, sip it, don't guzzle it. Water helps curb the appetite and will keep you hydrated and boost your energy.

Good luck, the hardest part is getting going. These are just some tips I learned over the years.
I put "knew" instead of "new" in my post.
I had to correct it. haha.
& thanks for the advice, I'm just in a rut.
I basically knew that diet pills aren't the way...I guess "easy outs" can just be so appealing.
Now theres some real advice from sisophous, nice job.

Yeah just stick with a good solid healthy plan and the word i keep stressing is "No" to diet pills, it just provides you a burning hole in your wallet when you buy them
Were they ephedra? That stuff is great for you.
@: roger49
I know ephedra is dangerous.
These were reasearched by her uncle to be competely safe and natural and just give you an energy boost and decrease your appetite.
However, they probably are bad for you.
& I go to her uncles gym actually.
I meant to say that earlier when smithee said that.
I've just gotten to a point where it's really hard to loose anymore weight.
If you REALLY want to lose body fat -fast- this is what you do:

The easy part:

Drink at least 8 quarts of water daily.

Cut out all sugar from your diet. You can eat pasta, bread, rice, meats, whatever you want.. just no "sweets"!

Eat 3 meals a day. Eggs, sausage patty or 2 links, cranberry juice, glass of milk and a banana is a great breakfast and the MOST important meal of the day (yes it really is true!) Some fish and rice is nice for lunch.. maybe a little cottage cheese or something on the side. If you dont want to prepare fish.. a can of PLAIN tuna with ground pepper is top notch.. add nothing else but pepper! it really is quite good. For dinner.. have whatever.. a piece of meat.. salad.. pasta.. w/e :)

Moderation is the only important thing when it comes to diet.

---

The hard part:

Step away from the weights! Get back! NO Touchy!!

This requires some real effort... break a sweat and don't be lazy!

Stretch 10 minutes before each workout.
Do some situps, crunches, pushups, and running in place for about 15 minutes total to warm up.. then go run 1 mile.. after that do some more situps and pushups. Repeat again after lunch but try to do 2 miles instead of 1. (NEVER stop running always keep your feet moving)

Do that every OTHER day. On the off days you aren't running, do low impact cardio and all the situps your body can handle. Camping out on the elliptical and recumbent bikes are fine. Stay on each of them for a minimum of 20 minutes each - after 20 minutes go do situps until you cant lift yourself and then stretch.. then go back to the bike or ellip.. stay in cycle for 2 hours.. same thing 2x a day.

You will be a lean mean fatless machine in 1 month.

(If you are going to use any kind of pill use ephedrine. As long as you take ONLY the recommended dose it's perfectly harmless.. ephedrine mixed with cardio turns your body into an overdrive fat burner and will make the workouts a little easier to pull through.) (Don't use if you have a weak heart)
Brianna,

Ive looked at thy photo on profile, you dont need to lose any weight looking at that.

So.. stop worrying about it, why are all girls obsessed with their weight ?????
RUN FORREST RUN!
1) Workout

2) Eat healthy food

3) Drink lots of water

4) No bad drugs even cigr

5) Should run outside every morning

Don't take diet pill because it can damage to your body which is not good you know. Also you need sugar... everyone need sugar...
yeah i agree with him but ont make that your whole life. You know diseases like anorexia and bullimia start out that way.! So just make healthy choices and don't worry! :)
Weight training helps you burn excess fat by raising your basal metabolic rate. You will weigh more, although muscle is more compact than fat. Don't be put off, have a word with a trainer at your gym and see what they recommend.

Personally I'd say don't weigh yourself. Judge by measurements or tightness of clothes. People get so hung up about weight, and it's just a number. Good luck.
No those pieces of s**t don't do anything for you
they just want your money diet and excersize works best
ur fukin hot u dnt need them
Weight training will add more weight if you do it correctly. Aerobics is the way to go.

Most of those pills are scams, which is what everyone's said.

There are pills that _will_ make you lose weight that are not generally meant for that purpose, but they are controlled substances and you probably won't get your hands on them without extremely good reason. I went from being overweight to underweight in a very short period of time with them. But I keep it secret because it could really do someone damage if they went too far with it.
take the diet pills i lost 70 pounds taking slim quick i weigh 127
