It seems I have noticed lately, that the men I have been around in my life have generally had a better sense of humour than the women. I've also noticed it's quite easier to offend a woman than it is to offend a man. Men just seem to be "cooler" about jokes, and when you tell a good, well thought-out racist, retard, etc joke, they are more likely to laugh than a woman would be. More women would seem to get horribly offended. What are your thoughts on this matter? Do you feel men or women generally have a better sense of humour? Do you feel that gender plays a role in someone's ability to laugh at something?

Honestly I do think that men have a better sense of humor as a whole. Like you said women get offended easily where as guys do not. In my case, men are a lot easier to talk to and joke around with because of just that, they generally do not get offended easily. The reason behind this is because women are more emotional than men. I really don't have a reason as to why women generally get offended easily.

That depends on the type of humor used. Women take offense more easily, so they're probably not going to care for offensive humor. Women have a sense of humor, though. They laugh pretty easily, just at different jokes.

Our brains work differently and it's obvious there's going to be a difference in the way we approach humour. In a way, I think the "brokenness" of men's brains make it much easier for men to be funny (plus we care more about it and define ourselves by it more). Of the exceptionally funny women I know, most of them are depressed or majorly insecure.

I feel some sympathy for female comedians because they are pressed to be funny in a male way, and that can't come naturally.

A lot of girls get all emotional when you tease them. But actually, for me, I have a very open sense of humor. Most girls keep it to themselves, per risk of being embarrassed if people think they are pervs.

Well, I have a very offensive sense of humor, and I am a woman... Ever heard of the crimefighter joke? And I have literally been addicted to Encyclopedia Dramatica.

Girls have a different sense of humor not a worse sense.

If I'm with a male friend or boyfriend or brother or whatever and they tell a sick joke of somekind I will generally find it hysterical .... but only up to a certain point, after which i take offence. The key to any good comedian is knowing just how far to push it. And incidentally I wouldn't dream of trying to pull off that kind of humour myself. I think it's in the delivery and very few women can pull that off successfully!!

"...when you tell a good, well thought-out racist, retard, etc joke, they are more likely to laugh than a woman would be."

The kicker is that most of those jokes aren't well thought out. And if they aren't, they're just immature and unfunny.

Well, yeah I agree. I hate them overly sensitive girls tbh.

gender means nothing regarding humor, in my opinion.
