It seems like everyone i know either:
a. *loves* this movie for the fantastic one-of-a-kind artistic piece it is, or
b. *hate* it for being so cryptic and inexplicable.
I for one admire it! I think it has that certain elusive quality that makes it kind of transcend any specific genre or niche; it does not fall into any particular 'bucket' i can think of in terms of the normal kind of movies you see these days. Plus, the whole 80's mood/soundtrack is awesome!!
Is it normal?!?!

Is it just me or do you know this is going to be a steaming pile of turd (Even though yes I love the original film)
Not too keen on the sequel idea though.
I don't see how it was cryptic. I got it the first time. It's about fate, paranormal time-hole theories, and an angsty high school boy. A big, dark, beautiful "What if?".
Kind of sad to realize that because you're alive, your loved ones die. So in the end, Donnie Darko decides to stay in bed so the people he loves can live.
Insane boy on meds
Sleepwalking
Evil bunny
Time travel
Love
An old lady walking to her mailbox
This movie was crazy. I seriously think this movie somehow makes us insane.
Seriously, i found it pointless BUT kind of funny in its random-ness.
Everyone has different tastes in movies, so there:)
