Others respond much more strongly than normal. It sounds like you may be one of the former. I'm the same way with the painkiller hydrocodone or whatever it's called. Yeah, it isn't mega powerful, but it's supposed to work better than a normal aspirin or Tylenol. I was prescribed a small amount after I had my wisdom teeth removed. I tried it once, but it didn't help the pain at all, so I tried a normal generic Tylenol (acetaminophen) and it worked like a champ.
