drunk driving

My friend and I drank a bottle of vodka and a bottle of rye the other night while fixing my car. He wanted a ride home afterwards and insisted that I drive him home. He just lives up the road from me, and I'm out in the country, so it really wasn't a big deal to drive him home. It wasn't like there were going to be pedestrians or anything to hit. It was 3 am. I had just torn the dash out of my car because I was replacing some things, so the lights wouldn't work. The passenger seat was covered in parts and junk, so my friend said he would just ride on the hood and shine a flashlight in front of the car so I could see where we were going. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyhow, I got to his place and found that he was no longer on the hood of my car. I searched for him but couldn't find him anywhere. What should I do? He still hasn't surfaced, and I'm starting to get worried.
Do you think it's normal?

he was abducted!
Uh, look for his body along the side of the road- maybe he is still alive. I have heard of badly mauled people living up to five days on the side of the road.
