Actually, EMO is NOT just clothing. It's when you wear your hair over your face like AFI (WHY THE FUCK are people becoming so obsessed with trying to be OTHER people? There must be some sort of mental disorder for that sorta thing). It's when you sit there and cry A LOT over every little thing. Gothic for your info is a style, not a religion or whatever. It's when you're a guy and you wear a tight shirt with tight pants, believe me, there's a whole lot more to it than you think CABBAGEPORN.

I dont think your getting it. I think she means Emo is a trend. If I wear my hair out and it sways into my face am I emo?? No! And gothic is not when you were tight shirts and tight pants!!! Im Black and considered one of the most Emos in my class lol. Being Emo is basically liking Heavy Metal, Growing your hair over your eyes, Not giving a fuck, and if your REALLY emo cutting yourself for kicks.

Emo is not a lifestyle its a clothing or a style itself its not something we can judge people by same as with ''chavs''. We're all unique.

Can i just say, Emo's are not all about being depressed and slitting there wrists. Most emo's are happy with who they are. Emo is the music they like, the clothes they wear and yeah maybe they like too have there hair over one eye. But people class all emos as sad,depressed people who self harm. when half the people are emo's because they like the music ect. Its just another label like Chav. But people dont diss chavs half as much as they doo emo's.
Im not an emo myself but it gets me mad when people talk about thm and class them when you dont know the person soo u cant judge them.

Okay, I'm emo and I don't apperiate it. Emo is short for being emotional. here are two types,

One - that cuts themselves
Two - that wears a certain type of clothing and listens to a certain type of music

I'm the latter, and it's basically skinny jeans, music shirts and make-up! I like every type of music! I like screamo and hard metal, but I also like classic rock, pop, hip-hop, classical and even some country. My friends think I one of the happiest people in the world and I am. You shouldn't sterotype emos because we are people who don't deserve to be treated that way! Especially the ones who need help because their life is horrible!

You should want to help them! The haters are the reason that emos think life isn't worth living.

Im a very happy person. But because of the way i wear my hair n' sh!t my friends often call me that as a joke.
Look, personally i think deep down everyone finds emos (not the full on type, but the semi-kind) attractive.
Lets be honest, the hair is sick, just admit it. The clothes are alternative and can be very fashionable.
The only thing about it i oppose is the fact that emos arent alternative at all, rather conformists.
But, the hair is cool. You know it is.

Not all emos cut themselves. I used to, but I got bored of it. I do like Heavy metal, and I don't act all depressed all the time. My schools emos are a lot different than they are stereotyped to be. In fact, emos and normal people co-exist decently. We don't even get bullied.

Emos do not always cut, most people that cut aren't emos.
Barely any emos are gay or bisexual, only some are.
Please, just think over what the real meaning of the word is before you judge.

Emo does not mean depressed. Emos, and goths for that matter, can be the most accepting people in your school. They don't care about your race, religion, or sexual orientation. If you're a nice person that they can get along with, they'll be nice to you, which is more than you can say about pretty much anyone else.

There are many defination of emo. From clothing, style, music, personality to lots of stuffs. There is also that normal people can turn into 'emo state' at random but is not considered as emo. Kinda like a mood swing.

Anyway, emo is nothing to do with gender. At least not gay gothic turn retarded though.
It's hard to differenciate emo,goth,punk and metal fans based on appearance. (although punk might be easier to notice based on their spikiness).
It's more of a different in thinking style.

eno the term came from the music than somewhere around 2000 (ish) people started caling other people emo meaning emotinal that dosent mean that they cut them self or winge things out of proportion the people who are TRULEY emo will be the ones who cant stop the bullshit they get dayley and wind up being sucluded and not being in the "in" croud which is not nessasarily a bad thing.
they often wind up with other people in simular situations.

now that other kind of emo the ones who do that stuff and not getting picked on are the ones who do it for resons that only they will understand coz they dont tell people what there problom is. . .
