Or, maybe they're just bored to tears and trying to find ANYTHING to take their minds off the tedium. I also ride public transit, and it can be difficult to find a good focal point for my eyes that doesn't involve looking into the general direction of another human being. But unless you have an arm growing out of your head or have heterochromia, I doubt you're being examined for your potential as a future participant in the freak show circuit. So just relax, and bring a book with you next time.

I cannot comment on los ageles bus but here there is heaps of hot pussy on trains and when school gets out it like hevean on wheels you can almost smell the fresh youn poon

unless the people staring at you are stalking you...then you need to call the police.

Mayb they are stunned by you in some way or are jealous of your apperance, especially if they look away when you stare back at them.

i take public transportation and i feel at most good looking cause they stare at me the way you say they stare at you and turn away when you look right back at them, i percieve my experience with thinkin' "damn i'm catching looks because i'm a cute dude".. their were fine ass girls that said one day after i stepped off a bus one time he's cute i'd give him my number!(made my day) If it helps, always think highly of yourself and demonstrate it with high value, don't be so self conscience cause then you will drive youself crazy thinking too much about it!!

As a fellow public transporter I can tell you that I sometimes look at people just because. Wonder how their lives are going, or just keep myself and my thoughts occupied until I am done with the trip.

theres some one we call the tesco rapist who always gets on the bus at tesco he stared but when you look at him he goes " murarahaba " and puts his head down but when stares agains and always washs his face on the bus with a rag he scares me

Urg, reading some of the replys you have received, I have to appologize.

Odds are, and you didn't state this, your an attractive female who dresses better than average. You are being stared at because people who ride on the public transportation are either poor, uncooth, or flat out made some bad decisions in their lives, hense the public transporation issue instead of driving to work.

They stare at you for one of the following:
1. Your a young person with your whole life in front of you, you dress nice and take a great care in yourself. You make them think about their life and how things could have been better.
2. People on public transportation are usually bored. They want to get from point A to point B but to do so they have to go through points C,D,E,F,and G to do so. Its not a straight route from A to B as the P.T. has to accomidate everyone and not just them. Odds are they are sick of seeing the same crap over and over outside and you are a sight for sore eyes.
3. They may just think you are hot and enjoy looking at you.
