When I've spoken to someone for a while in real life, then I talk to them on the phone for the first time, their voice sounds completely different! Like they're a completely different person. Of course I always get used to it, but for that first phone call or so I can't help but wonder if I'm talking to an imposture... IIN?

I believe they mean 'impostor'.

…who could justly be accused of imposture. They also have bad posture from hanging too many posters.

I know what you mean, but I don't think of them as impostors. While I talk to them, I'll ponder about how different their voice sounds. I once got a call from a friend and when she spoke I couldn't believe that was her. I wasn't expecting her to sound like a valley girl and during the conversation that was all I could think about:/

I hate talking on the phone. I either text someone or talk to them face-to-face.

It sucks. I can't recognise about half of my extended family over the phone since we seldom call each other and they kind of expect me to know who's calling.

But it's also fun to get them back, especially if they call another family member and I answer the phone.
