Growing up I had lots of friends,I was very popular and well liked. I cut my self off from alot of poeple when I got religious form the ages of 14yrs old to 21. now im 22, Im trying to get my life back and im not religious anymore however Its like I dont know how to connect with people anymore. Im on facebook and have all my old friends on my profile but none talks to me dispate my efforts of trying to reconnect with them. Im also at college and its like when when I start a friendship,its like everything is going well then the person changes.Its like they avoid me and dont talk to me.This has happend sevral times to me with differnt people.Im not rude,im sweet, honest and very caring.My teachers love me and people are naturally drawn to me.but after a while they dont want to kno. Im really trying my best but I cant seem to maintain a friendship with anyone. can you help me please???

Well to go for 8 years (age 14 to 22) and expect to just pick things up with old friends isn't working, though it is worth the continued effort.

Really, try to be persistent, in a gentle way. Suggest activities, rebuild your network.

If there is someone you think has suddenly grown cool maybe take them aside & ask if there is anything you have done, that you don't want to turn people off. Don't grovel or invite unwarranted criticism. Just put it as an honest effort to improve how you relate.
