A couple of months ago at work, I got a great idea for a prank. I work at a pizza place by the way and it was close to closing time so the boss wasn't there. Anyway, I got on my cell phone and called the restaurant from the restroom and asked for a friend of mind that worked there. When he picked up the phone, I told him I was from the police department and that his mom had gotten into a car accident and that he needed to get to the hospital. My plan was originally just to yank his chain for a second or two and tell him it was me but the way he responded made me think he had caught onto my act and knew it was me. He said he didn't hear what I had said and told me to repeat it. So I repeated it and his voice quavered as he asked me if it was serious. I then bolted from the restroom to the phone and jerked it out of his hand and explained the whole thing to him. I know I took it to far because when I saw him his body was shaking uncontrollably. After he found out it was me, he playfully beat up on me and everyone had a good laugh about it. He teasingly threatened to slash my tires but hasn't done it yet. He was never that mad about it though but most people that heard the story think I was being an a**hole. Some, like me though, appreciated the humor though as I didn't let him go on thinking his mom was hurt for more than 10-15 seconds though. By the way, this was done in retaliation for the many things he had done to me that night. Do you think this prank was funny, or did I take it over the line?
Do you think it's normal?

one man's fun is another's hell
Downright insensitive and mean too. A sense of humor is great but you crossed the line. It isn't funny when it is at someone's expense. Don't try to justify it by first calling it a prank and then toward the end of your story referring to it as retaliation. Think next time.
You are a fucking idiot this bloke should have jammed your face on the pizza stove and cooked it
you´re an ass, that was way to harsh!!
u should have stopped when the guy asked you to repeat the story, in that precise second the fun is gone and he is really getting his attention into it and his brain is working out the story, not like in the first impression.
even though... not a good idea to play with something like that, not even with the guy's dog or cat...
well maybe the cat ok... :P
dont do it again man..

Not that mean. If you wanted to be really mean you probably shouldve killed his mom for real.
You're mean!!
I would slapped you and kicked you in the nuts, then spread rumors about the sexuality of your mother.

in short, that was a horrible thing to do. He must be pretty forgiving lol.
aw that sounds mean.
Its funny get over it.

haha
someone tells him on phone his mum(member of his family, the woman who brought him up!) has been in an accident, i wouldnt be pleased and would be thinking about if i should count you as a friend.
ever see that show "scare tactics"? they do worse things than that to people. sick
i'd do it lol.. shit that would have been some funny shit..

but shit if I did it to someone I would have taken it farther than you did, but have a way to not get him to tell anyone yet and to get him away from the crown poisoned the guy then kill him.. but thats me..
LOL!

I would have pooped in his afternoon coffee. Thats just me though...
I lost my brother in a motorcycle accident. So trust me when I say...no, not a damn bit funny. Not in the least. You were an a-hole that night. But at least you seem to feel a bit guilty. Next time don't be stupid.
blah
That was one of the most terrible things anyone has ever done. Shame on you.
Cruel and sick.
