I don't mind her music but seriously I don't understand what her songs mean.
have all the songs gone meaningless these days??
when I first heard her song I liked it but then radio ruined it for me.
anyway my point is do you understand or know what her songs mean, what they're about?
her first song "sweet about me"?
and the her 2nd song " I don't want to go to bed now" if you have read the lyrics or listenend to her song(s) carefully you'll see what i'm talking about.
if you do know please tell because im very interested in what the songs are about and what the story is behind it.

Is it normal to be interested in the songs storyline and what made the artist(s) sing/write the song(s)?
Do you think it's normal?

I dont the artist you speak of but one day a guy said to me The words dont mean anything theyre just there to go with the music most stupid thing Ive ever heard
Just make believe it is another rap-crap song, an bang your head against the refrigerator, until the noise stops.
I looked her up she is quite fuckable
I second that!
yes that really is stupid.
lol she's only 16 i think
but maybe now she's 17

oh.. ok
in my opinion the words mean everything. the whole point of a song is to make the listener feel something and the only way that will happen is by the lyrics
Lyrics are supposed to be ambiguous. The listener is expected to bring their own meaning to the song, gently guided by the tone suggested by lyrics.

I used to think that some artists do this well, and some do not, but I found that to be naive.

It's a little like saying "I like good music." We all agree with that, until we start specifying which songs are good and which are not.

If you don't like an artist, stop listening. Leave the universal judgement thing to the market.

Spend your time contributing something positive to life. Any fool can be a critic.
i hate that pop singer as well as here meaning less songs too
she's trying to be artistic and failing. and yes it's normal to be interested in the story behind a song, that's what interviews were invented for, at least that's what they WERE for.
Secondly, no one can convince me that modern rap or crunk or whateverthehell its called songs are about anything. They shout nouns over the same beat over and over. Can't really identify with that...
