Is it normal to find atheists really irritating? Why do they always pick Christianity to hate? Howcome they don't go on about Hinduism, Islam, Shintoism, and Scientology. Can't the atheists get a life?
Do you think it's normal?

Sounds like the atheists you've met are more racists(if that's the right word) than anything if they hate a certin religion. Atheists aren't meant to hate religion, they just don't beleive in god. I can understand your feelings for people who hate religion. Those feelings can be seen as very normal (just don't go beating up non-beleivers).
I can't remember the last time an athiest pushed a pamphlet in my face or told me I was going to spend eternity burning for my beliefs. I'm sorry, who did you say was irritating?
agreed with freedownofspeech
Ive been threatened many times by christians that if i dont do what they want me to do, ill burn in hell forever.
you get a life a-hole
The problem is that:
Everytime a Christian evangelizes, (tries to make you believe in Christianity) they aren't doing it to irritate, piss you off, threaten you, or anything offensive. They believe that if you don't trust in Christ you will go to hell. And any person with a real conscience that believes in something like that does not want anyone to go to hell. If you think about it, such religions as Hinduism (( http://www.himalayanacademy.com/basics/nineb/ )) do not state that an unbeliever perishes or gets hurt. So why would a Hindu evangelize to somebody that isn't in danger based on their (the Hindu) beliefs? It's pretty obvious. Christians risk rejection from non-believers in their religion for the chance that the person they evangelized might trust in God and therefore be exempt from hell. If you held the ticket that say... let your friend play in the nfl.. Would you risk rejection that he might not want to play in the nfl for the chance that was his dreams? I would. See, thats why Christians "force their religion on you" they truly believe in what the Bible teaches and they care about each and every one of you.
I don't know any Christians who force their beliefs onto people, its always the Jehovah's witness people
Because Christians are the ones who like to command others to believe their own twisted interpretation of an already twisted book.

Not saying that all Christians are horrible evangelists, but most evangelists ARE Christian.
Because even as we speak, Christianity is ruining the world. Christians are the reason Stem Cell reseach in America hasn't been going on years ago. Therefore, Christianity put Christopher Reeve in a wheelchair. Christianity is the reason gaybashing goes on. Christianity was the excuse for slavery. Christianity was the reason so many women died in Salem, Massachuses. Christianity is the reason research into a cure for AIDS didn't get the funding it needed from the start. Christianity is the reason children in many American states don't know about evolution.

Now Wicca, on the other hand, Wiccans are totally harmless. They're not missionary, "do as you will but harm none" is their ONE commandment.
Christianity didn't put Christopher Reeve in a wheelchair, the horse did.
they pick on christians because
a: most of the population in USA is christian
b: because christians pick on them for ahving no god
I think all religions have roughly the same amount of idiocy.

Christians are just the most numerous. And most easily relatable to most people. If I went on about an obscure Kaballa ritual would a 19 year old WASP kid be able to wrap his mind around the point? nope.
I found Jesus. He was behind the sofa the entire time.
Let me ask you this; have you ever, in your entire life, been directly picked on by an Atheist while you were minding your oun business the way mormons do?
Actually I'm not a fan of Scientology either, and Islam is a rip-off of Christianity just as Christianity is a rip-off of Judism. But Shintoism is fairly harmless.
"Islam is a rip-off of Christianity"

Thats a big claim, what do you mean?
I mean the Quran is made up of three testiments, the first two are directly from the Christian Bible, just as the first testiment of the Christian Bible is directly from the Jewish bible. Jesus is one of the muslim prophets. do your oun research.
oh, and the other thing is; most Atheists were once Theists, but through critical reason, came to the conclusion that what they'd been taught as a child didn't make sense. Like Santa. In countries like Australia and America, most of the will be exChristians.

And, yeah, Christianity didn't put Christopher Reeve in a wheelchair, but it didn't get him out, either. And it's not helping innocent Iraqis as we speak, is it?
And you see? Right there is the other answer to your question.

Now if only there was a method by which one might extract information from a book in order to determine the contents of said book. Perhape by opening said book and forming symbols, mentally, into words and sentences.

You didn't get him out of the wheelchair either, so quit putting the blame on Christianity.
Its interesting that you call massive religion a "rip-off" like some movie... k
@: deamond
And Christianity isn't a rip-off of Judism. Know what they actually mean.
Jewish people: Worship God and only God, therefore they follow the old testament.
Christian people: Worship God (the old testament), and they worship Jesus (being the new testament) which makes up the Bible. You can call Christianity an 'extension' or 'add-on' if you will, but not a rip-off.
@: callo
I never understood why christians diregarded the jewish traditions that jesus himself practiced.
It seems hypocritical and hardly an "add on"
add-on, sequel, rip-off, spinnoff, homage, adaptation, remake, expansion pack, whatever.

Shavemeslowly has a very good point;
is it not hypocritical to persecute one Jew and worship another?
uhh.. how is Christianity a rip-off? Can you explain where the hypocrisy comes from? Jesus was a Jew, and his followers were Jews. After he was crucified, his followers were the first Christians. The reason why the Jews don't have anyhting to do with Jesus is because they don't believe he was the Messiah/ Saviour from God. If you have anyhting, add on.
@: callo
I think it is weird how christians disregarded so much of the laws that are in the old testament and that jesus himself followed. Things like shabbat, kashrut, and even stupid holidays like passover, the holiday of the famous "last supper"
It seems hypocritical because christians worship jesus so heavily and yet disregard the lifestyle the savior himself led.
the thing with Christianity is that alot of people say they are Christians, even though they do heaps of things which breaks the commandments, and therefore makes them not Christian in my books. If everyone was as Christian as they said so, there would be no murders, rapes, affairs and robbery. I haven't heard of shabbat and kashrut, so I take it they are Jewish traditions. The reason why Christians don't celebrate those even though Jesus did, is because Jesus was Jewish, we are not. We are separated by traditions, but similar in the belief of God.
Im an athiest and i think you should go fuck yourself, because i dont care what religion you are whether you believe jesus, budah, or allah your still a dee dee dee
JESUS WASNT A JEW
How could you ever understand good if there was no bad to compare it too? How would you know joy if there was no sadness? How could you appreciate life without death ? How could you see miracles without tragedy? We wouldn't have good feelings if... there were no bad, we would just "be". Being is different than living and living is not about just being. THIS IS GOD'S GIFT IF YOU WONDER WHY HE LET'S US SUFFER!
