Guitar covers, no strings? - 65% Normal

Alright, this is pretty stupid.
I've been playing guitar for about 8 years now, I'm 18 years old.

I own a midnight blue Les Paul guitar signed by every 3oh!3 member and metallica member.

About 3 weeks ago, I broke a string, and I'm holding off on buying new strings so I can help pay for my dads funeral.
I know strings are cheap as hell, but I get them professionally stringed and tuned.
And of course every penny counts in a funeral.

I'm really bored without my guitar, so I sometimes put on my headphones and music and play the correct chords, but I have no strings so it seems embaressing.
I get really embaressed when my family walks in my room, then I just feel plain stupid.

Is this normal, or is it weird?
Do you think it's normal?

Apparently you have no brains either....how could you "break a string 3 weeks ago" and be wondering if you should replace it when you state that "you have no strings" and feel stupid pretending to play your guitar? Either you have strings or you don't (same thing with the brains...you either have one or you don't).
1. buy a cheap string
2. pay for funeral
3. wait and save for good string
4. buy string
just throw some cheap strings on there "rockstar" what are strings like 6 bucks? get some Ernie Ball strigns and tune it yourself. Lol the professional is taking you for a ride.

I believe D'addario strings are much better
