Yeah, I get what you mean. I think marriage has such an inpact on a relationship. It is almost as if once you are married you have to follow these relationship rules like EVERYONE ELSE, which sounds silly because things shouldn't change just because a bit of paper says that you are together. All of a sudden women are classed as house wives and men as the providers of the household. Fortunatly things in society are changing and these rules are less important but also people are getting married less and just living together instead.

As a woman I only want to get married for the wedding day, if someone loves me then marriage should not be the only way it has to be shown. There has to be a long period of time (like 5-10 years) where you get to know your significant other before settling down to marriage anyways.

Doesn't look like you and her want the same thing - she's into marriage, family & babies. You are not. But just because you are not (which is OK) doesn't mean she's wearing the pants. You just have different agendas.

your right she will wear the pants but the thing is even if you dont get married after a few years she still ends up wearing the pants believe me i know i love my girl but she trys to command everything! but it isnt so bad now i took back some of my authority so we kind of both borrow the pants at different times lol

You should only marry for love, or in some cases, financial gains. From what you say, it sounds like you really shouldn't have gotten married in the first place, seeing as you don't have that 'Oh, I love you so much and want to be with you forever' vibe.
Maybe talk to her and tell her plainly like you feel you're being walled into things you don't want to do? Have you tried saying 'no' to anything, yet? Try it, you may be surprised. :P

I feel ya and I would only get married for the bachlor party and the free lap dances and alcohol.

Hahaha, I know what you mean. :P However, just because you're married doesn't mean you have to be less masculine, you can still wear the pants, and still scratch your butt in public. All you gotta do is find the right girl, and there's plenty of 'em out there.
Also, you can be a good chef, and not wear an apron. :P

LOL you guys crack me up. You pick girls who are looking to change you from day one, who get moogly eyed at babies, and who treat you like a child, and then you say "getting married ruins your life!" Um marriage didn't ruin your life, that whacked out Doris Day wannabe you married did.

My husband and I race cars, compete in bass fishing tournaments, go offroading, and have friends over for steaks and beer. If he wants to go out with the guys, that's cool with me, even if it's to a strip joint. He's a grown ass man, I don't need to babysit him or tell him what to do. Hell I bought tickets to a major league ballgame for him and 4 of his buddies for his bachelor party, and told the guys "Take him out, get him drunk, and let him be as stupid as he wants to be!".

Find the right woman, and marriage can be the best thing that ever happened to you.

Find the wrong one, and you might as well cut your weenie off right now. ;)

marriage is not for everyone, but a man isnt soft for getting married. it his choice and want to stay and be with that one person they love.
