I am a 21 year old male with a hairy chest, yet most other men I see lying around sunbathing etc of a similar age seem to have a bare chest. I find it quite confusing because surely if they shave it they would suffer with some form of stubble. Is it normal that most men have a hairy chest and then shave it or is it abnormal to have a hairy chest?

"Beauty trends" dictate men's (and often women's) attitudes toward chest hair. During the 1970s, for instance, a hairy chest was a sign of virility and sexuality, and most "leading men" in Hollywood had hairy chests and show-cased them ad nauseum. By the 1990s, chest hair had fallen out of fashion, and men began secretly shaving and/or waxing. Like most trends, this began in the Gay Male community, and then spread to the straight male world. After a decade and a half of smoothness (most of it artificial) chest hair is making a comeback. Numerous articles have been written in the pupular press regarding this trend, and more and more leading men are showing off their fur again.
My advice is to find what makes you sexy, and accentuate it. If that means going against the norm, so be it. There's always someone out there who'll find you attractive, especially if you believe you are.
developer like I was. I started shaving at 13 and had a very hairy chest at 15. I was not ashamed of it. Most of the other
guys were envious. Now at 19 my
back is hairy too. It turn some girls off, but others really like it
the only probem is i get teased because i am the only boy ibn the class who hair growing on his chest sould i shave it off someone answer please
A lot of guys shave their chest. It doesn't grow as quickly as facial hair so their isn't stubble for a couple days. If you don't want it, maybe you can try Nair or something like that. I wouldn't wax it...oh my god.
Exist people for everybody, the important is love your self like you are, don´t change for an external opinion.
get lucky in your search.
Body hair is a product of two factors: androgen production, and your sensitivity to it. If a person has high androgen levels and moderate to high sensitivity, he/she tends to be hairier. The general patterns are around the nipples, between the pecs, over the pecs, and on the stomach. Women with high levels of androgens (or who are highly sensitive) will sometimes grow a moustache and will get hairs around their nipples from time to time.
