And I agree with you dot. you can look at other sites and its like, first site, eh. Second site, eh, and so on and so forth, you get here and its like WTF?
I think If I was shafted like youve been Knuck Id be a bit more reserved in my comments dont get carried with your popularity it may be short lived. You dont seem to have learned anything in my opinion
Dot, help me understand something here. How is Knuck's interest in DBZ so different from your interest in Spiderman? You both like bigger-than-life, well-known fictional characters who kick ass. Seems to me that you both might have more in common than you're willing to admit.
I like Spiderman better overall myself, but the point is, you and Knuck both like things with similar elements that are very popular with many other young people. This means you two have something in common and at this time, I think it might be helpful to look at the things that are similar about you two rather than focusing on the differences.
I know I'm butting in here, but it would really be nice to see this site calm down a bit after everything that's happened over the last few days. This is just a board and forum -- a bunch of invisible people who meet to talk about the issues of the day, to share problems, humor, advice, common interests, etc. Chances are, you'll never actually meet any of these folks. That's why flame wars in particular make no sense to me -- battles between two people who've never met but who might actually like one another in real life.
IsItNormal.com. Is this site despite its name, normal?
In one word NO.
In an essay, no, it is not normal as in real life normal, which, realistically, is what endears us all to it. It allows us to vent frustrations in cyberspace that we wouldn't feel comfortable with venting in real life for one reason or another.
It is normal for IsItNormal however. It is an open forum with no monitors, no censorship and total freedom of speach. What is not perhaps so normal is the fact that the users tend to abuse that privilege.
Yes, it is a privilege. Thats why you will not find another site like it. Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, you get the 'power' battles. It is like the wild animals vying with each other for top dog position.
There are some really good charactors in here who have some quite astute perceptions tainted with sharp whit. There are some without even half a brain cell, and there are those who try to be themselves.
Quite a vibrant mix of personalities, and do you know what?
I WOULDN'T CHANGE A DAMNED THING because thats what makes this site worth being on.
