How can I gain confidence? I am an attractive 20 year old at university but want to be more confident in group situations. I can speak quite confidently while one on one, but find it quite hard in a group situation. I think this is mainly because, I find it hard to get a word in, yet others seem able to. Please help.
Do you think it's normal?

dude just focus on good stuff u hav and ignore any negative thought that cums 2 u.and try working out(push ups and stuff)its would make u more confident physically.and practice talkin once in a while within ur group discussion.
lol i know exactly what your problem is...have you ever heard the expression 3 is a crowd? well the people talking are probably people who were talking before you were...basically find someone or two people and try talking to them...you can also try tapping someone on the shoulder and asking them a question (an advise question is best) and someone could chime in changing the subject and making you part of the conversation...its not due to a lack of confidence its due to a lack of punctuation lol
When your talking in a group, listen to whoever is speaking and when you can tell that they are about to finish speaking be prepared to jump in right after hes done. You have to be very straight forward or else no one is going to pay attention. And to help you with your problem on being uncomfortable in a group situation, when your talking try to just focus on one person, that way it feels like your only talking to one person.
Dude, I'm 45 and I'm like that too. NOt afraid to jump in, and do sometimes. More like I just don't care for all the bs that usually comes along with a large group of people. YOu may just be more reserved and speak more when you will be heard and understood. Not necessarily a bad thing at all.
hey u should just open up and relax i use to be like that until i got sick of alot of people just saying there opinon just but in instead i know its rude but u got to be agressive
