How should we tell them?

I am a self-employed 17 year old high school student and I have been dating a girl who is 19 and has a 7 month old daughter. We have only been dating for a few months but have known each other for almost three years. I took her father out to dinner last night and asked for his permission to propose to her. He told me that he thinks it is a wonderful idea and that I have his full support. My only problem is that she is my older brothers best friend, her mother hates my guts, and we have been hiding our relationship from both of them. How should we tell them?

instead of worrying about what other people think you should be worried if you are ready to have a wife and kid at 17.


will you be able to afford going to college and raise a kid? Are you mature enough to accept the give and take that marriage is?

Are you prepared for the kids father to be hanging around your wife to be if and when he visits his daughter?


stop worrying about the small stuff and look at the bigger picture ,man---youre 17 and getting a wife and kid.think it the fuck over!

I think your to damn young to even consider getting married. I would suggest you concentrate on your education and when that is complete and you find the right woman (one with no kids) you can get married.

When I was in my 20's and having a relationship with my grandfather we knew not to come out about it because the family would not agree. Funny how I was the only there for him when he died.
