No matter what I do, there always seems to be dandruff in my hair, mostly on my scalp. I've used many different shampoos and conditioners, specifically for dandruff and also not. I wash my hair every other day.
As I am going to college in the fall, I really do not want to have dandruff in my hair all the time. I'd like to be able to fix it.
I would like to know if this seems normal and if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix my problem.
Do you think it's normal?

go to walmart of sally and ask if they have any treatment and scrub you head real go and that should do it
You may need to see a dermatologist. You may have psoriasis or eczema and treatment for that does not come from Wal-mart or Sally. Also, if you take hot showers they will dry your scalp, so try luke warm while shampooing and cool while rinsing conditioner. Good Luck!

You should see a dermatologist. This could be eczema or psoriasis as stated above, but this could also be an allergy to the shampoos/creme rinses, or even your tap water. Most tap water has chlorine in it which is very drying to the skin and scalp. Also, most shampoos & creme rinses have alcohol, perfumes, etc. in them which is also very drying and very aggitating to some people's skin. I am very allergic to hair spray, most shampoos, creme rinses, soaps, perfumes, lotions, etc., so this could be a possibility for you as well.
What you need is loprox shampoo. It's not a cure, but it works.
Try using a good shampoo (not sure which) and comb your hair afterwards.
I've spoken to a friend who had a problem a lot like yours, he did say he was warned by his doctor, if you use a dandruff shampoo, and you switch to a new one every few days or so out, it can make the problem worse. What you'll want to do is fine one and stick with it. Failing that, you'll want to check with a doctor.
Sounds like psoriasis.
The fastest treatment for that is a steroid lotion prescribed by a doctor.
If you can't get to a doctor, then ask your pharmacist for some steroid lotion or shampoo options - they won't be as strong as what your doctor can prescribe, but they might be enough to do the trick too.

This is a fixable thing.
