I am a virgin but I don't know if I'm supposed to shave my vagina area or not, am I supposed to? (I'm under 18)

It doesnt matter if you are a virgin or not, shaving is really a personal preference. Some people like myself just dont like hair so that could be a reason to shave. If not shaving doesnt bother you and its merely just to fit in to make yourself feel better than do what makes you happy. Being someone who shaves is just another label.

OK thanks. I'm 11 and I got my period and I have developed a lot faster than other 11 year old girls I wear like a D cup bra and I am like 5 foot 9 but anyway I just wanted to know if I am supposed to do that or not ok thanks again bye.P.S. can u cut open that area by shaving???

u can have little bleeds from it but it will just sting it doesnt real slice open or anything. if thats something that you really want to try just to see if you like it than try shaving with the grain, if the hair grows towards your feet shave that way, causes less razor burn and there are also bikini area designed razors!

just keep the hair short, no need to completely shave. that way you will avoid lots of hair later in life.
something important, you shave your vulva, not your vagina, if you ever shave your vagina, please tape it and post it in youtube!

Ok well I shaved last night but I wish I diden't cause' it hurts down there now and there is little bumps and I liked to feel the hair before but now its not there! How long does it take for the hair to grow back?

(18/f) I am a virgin too and i shave sometimes.. But hey, it's your choice if you want to or not. If you want to then trim first with small scissors. That's how i started. and it's best to shave only once every blue moon or special occasions because if you shave alot then you could get an infection down there and that won't be pretty. Scarey yeah i know, but there are also other ways to shave. But for right now trim.

P.S. If you TRUELY choose to shave now, be VERY CAREFUL!! Good luck to you Little Miss.

Dont shave your vagina because that can give you a rash around that area which can be painfull and sensitive and sometimes pread to your inner legs whcih rubs when you walk.. so what you need to do is either wax or use hair removal cream..

ok i am just like Riley only im 13...i shave to and i get these little red bumps and it is really really itchy sometimes and i read all the other comments ...like what kind of trimming scissors do you use and are the bumps ingrown hairs and how do i make the red bumps from not comeing back??and can i make the itching stop??

Sometimes the reason you get the red bumps is because your shaving against the grain. You can use any scissors to trim sometimes the bumps can be ingrown hairs if you gently squeeze on one of the bumps and a hair comes out the it is ingrowing. The itching could also be because you haven't shaved properly so there could still be a few prickly hairs which Are annoying if your using a disposable razor, they arent the best to use I would advise you to buy a venus vibrance razor they don't hurt as much.

It's not true that you will have more hair to shave later in life regardless of how much you shave earlier.

That being said, trimming is better. I never figured out how not to get the red bumps. Don't use a scissor though. Use an electric trimmer. I have a Schtick Quatro electric trimmer/regular razor combo. I only use the trimmer part and it works great. It doesn't get rid of all the hair but almost all of it, is much easier than a scissor and does not result in any red bumps at all.

With me it was more itching than pain, but that lessens once the area gets used to being shaved. I still get the red bumps though and cannot figure out how to stop that. Sticking with trimming.
