First of all I will reveal some information about myself. I am a 40 year old English high school teacher in the US and have been a teacher for 10 years. But this year in my senior class there is someone very different in my class, when you first meet him he appears to be an oddball of sorts and barely gets along with anyone but when people make fun of him he does stand up for himself.
Anyways this student from what I have observed since September is just an absolute genius, although as he claims that "English is his weak point" he is still getting the highest grade in my class. You should see the essays and thesis he has written in my class its NOTHING like I have read before, they’re terrific that is not even it, his other classes from the information I gathered are just the same he currently takes 4 science classes and 3 history classes all of which his average in those classes are in the high 90’s.
I have found myself since November admiring this kid he is obviously different then the other students but in a good way. His SAT scores were 2360 the highest any student in this school has ever achieved if only I was 20 years younger, damn but I know I cannot have a relationship with him. I have a husband and daughter! But what I do wish is for him to go out when he graduates and do his best! I care about what will happen to him after high school and want to see him succeed so he will improve this society.
Is this normal? For me to have such admiration for some student?

You should admire these people, they're the kind who get far.
if u want to help, find out what he really like and guide him to do something he loves, he will for sure make amazing things!
Help him on his way to where he wants to be and I'm sure you'll feel better about it. Admiration is normal.
Although, your writing skills are not very good at all. I'm not quite sure how you became an English teacher.
