When I walk by someone, like at the store, I can't look at them. I always have to look down and its really annoying but I can't help it. Is that normal?

The act of not looking at someone is generally due to low confidence. I used to be that way. Then I took a class on leadership for a general education credit, and learned how much a look can boost anyone's mood and self esteem. People who see you making eye contact feel more comfortable around you and more at ease.

I can't walk by people when I look at them. Instead have have to spin around holding my head with one hand and waving a pink hanky with the other and scream, "Fubsy Irishmen Make Me HORNY???" Then I can walk by them in a suave and sophisticated, laid-back kinda way.

LOL.....HAHAHAHHAHHHAHA

People like you are the ones I can inferior in my mind!
I used to do that...not really, I only put my head down when there are lots of crowd waiting at the bus stop because if I sure look up, I'll start laughing/smiling!

But i stopped that shit now! I ALWAYS look up now! If its it some motherfarker acting tough, I wouldn't look down!

Everytime I go outside with my head up, most people can't even look at me when they walk by me, they look down!

lol:)

I do that still sometimes but I force myself to look now. But sometimes I still find myself quickly looking away when our eyes meet.

It could be an obsessive compulsive thing. I do that a lot because of ocd. I'll stand still, close my eyes and wait for them to pass. Or I'll just close the eye on the side they're passing on. I do that with cars too. (I don't do it when I'm driving!) At night though, it's mostly to cut out the glare of headlights.
