Well, I don't think it's a problem. I quite understand you. I don't belive in God either but do respect other people's beliefs. The problem is that you do not agree with your parents about that. Of course they won't like that. But faith is not a thing that you can just inherit from your parents. You have your own way. Now you think God is a phantasy... Well you have reasons for this. Many things are going to happpen to you ad years go by. May be you'll change your mind, may be not.

Thats pretty normal...I myself dont believe in God but I believe in spiritual forces and energies.I think there is SOME kind of deja-vu power out there...I just dont see it as 'God'

Perfectly normal. I've been an atheist for over 20 years. When I first announced this to my mother, it caused quite a bit of anguish, as she was deeply religious. We argued for years, and grew distant. But, eventually she reluctantly accepted the fact that my view would never change--although that didn't stop her from hoping and praying.

As you point out, the scriptures are filled with silly and illogical nonsense. Scholars argue endlessly how it should be interpreted. Yet, this is irrelevant. The key question is: Where is the evidence? And the answer is that there is no evidence. None whatsoever. In fact, the very concept "god" cannot even be defined properly. And, to argue that one should have "faith" in the existence of god, that one should believe despite the absence of evidence, is to make a mockery of the very process by which humans discover and acquire genuine knowledge. It is faith that enables the religious elite to perpetuate the biggest fraud in human history.

ok man you need something to base your facts about GOD not JESUS it is not the same person so you sound completely ignorant. second thought its completely normal to not believe in a god or anything but hold the phone before calling yourself atheist because it is such a hard claim to make jus cause the facts are so hard to accept on atheism maybe you are something else. Atheism has its place just like Christianity and Hinduism but it is completely normal to not accept God
