I don't have a religion?

I don't know if i'm the only one here, but when people ask me what religion I follow I answer by 'I have no religion'.. I believe in god but i think all religions stem from the same origins so I have faith in god but not in any religion. When I ask other people what religion they follow they tell me they're either atheist or have belief in a certain religion.. I also think that the bible, quran and any other religious book is a load of stories that people have created to make moral rules, but people have taken it too litterally!

I don't mean to offend anybody who believes in a religion, i just wanted to know if anybody else thinks like this, and if its normal i do?

personally I think it's a bunch of fairytales. but then again it's everyone's choice whether they want to believe something or not. my opinion is that people need someone to believe in and someone to blame. not like I don't believe in anything i just think it has nothing to do with me so NO RELIGION for me either. and to answer your question i think it's pretty normal.

Pretty much summed my standpoint too. Though personally I'd go further on the whole "blame" thing. IMO most people who are religious are simply scared (mostly subconsciously) of what they do not know or cannot influence, they therefore cling to their beliefs because the 'big man' (god) is on their side and it makes them feel better. Great placebo right there.

From what I can see you are a christian atheist kinda contradictory but i had a philosophy/psychology prof who is the exact same. He believes that the bible isn't a literal account of the past but more of a metaphorical/symbolic way to set a bunch of rules perhaps that'll resonate with you.

I'm like you too. I don't have a religion but neither i'm a atheist. I believe in some storage things XD...but I have ever wished to be a part of some religion or some church. I find like the people who have a religion are cop let.
