So I get pretty good grades in school and I help a lot of my friends understand their homework and classwork. When we're hanging out on the weekends or after class and someone mentions my grade on a quiz or how I helped them I always hear "oh, you're so smart." They all seem to think it's a compliment, but I just feel like crying whenever people call me smart. I feel like I'm two dimensional and not really a friend, only someone considered 'smart'. I want to be liked for other qualities. Thoughts?

In child development I sit next to two freshman girls that don't know what the uterus does! It's when people like that call me smart that I get irritated by it.

even if it is the only compliment you recieve, i am sure your friends do like you for who you are. after all, you do things together that don't involve you helping them with schoolwork, right?
Be happy of who you are and realise that you will hopefully have a better life than the retards who bash you because you are smarter than them.
I know how you feel :)
