This post is pretty interesting. Google can find anything for you when you need it. Just rocked my 7 and 8 year-old sons to sleep because dogs mauled their cat to death this afternoon. Neither child ever requires rocking to sleep as they are normally well adjusted little boys. I have had more of my own personal pets get mauled to death by someone else's stinking dogs than I care to think about (at least 7 of my pets have been killed in the last 20 years by dogs)! It IS LEGAL in my state to shoot the stupid things in that situation. I don't ever advocate animal abuse, but I saw my dad shoot plenty of crappy, random dogs that were up to no good with our livestock when I was a kid. MY FARM DOGS NEVER EVEN THOUGHT OF DOING WHAT OTHER PEOPLE'S DOGS DID TO MY PETS. WTF?!? Our current family dog cohabitates peacefully with all our other pets.
I am SOOOO sick of other people's rotten dogs. I am finally glad to find a place to rant till my anger simmers down enough for me to go to bed. They bark. They stink. They bite. They claw. They release their anal glands and start pooping when agitated (watch out). They love dead stuff (enough to keep eating it while they get hit by cars). They poop in other people's yards. They are territorial and opportunistic. They are more protected in this country than children are in some other countries. Saw an ASPCA ad today on TV--pleading for money to go to the animals. Seriously? Your donation will not really not stop animals from being maimed or killed in the hands of stupid people. Elimination of stupid people stops that. Uh, not gonna happen. Also, more unwanted or stray animals are humanely euthanized by vets and humane societies each year than I care to speak of. Donations won't stop that either. So, why not send money to organizations who care about people that need food and medicine in the world?
Oh, and for all you ding dongs out there...Dogs are NOT furry children! Giving dogs the same rights as children will mean wonderful things will become of your vet bills! You won't even be able to afford to keep pets anymore because your vet will have to pay so much in malpractice insurance to protect himself from potential fur-kid lawsuits. Of course, your vet will have to pass that exorbitant cost onto you--just like your human physician does. Can you image paying $1000 for vaccines? Keepin' it real, Folks!
Oh, another stupid one? GET IT STRAIGHT! ALL DOGS WITH TEETH CAN AND WILL BITE in the right situation. The next time some moron tells me "my dog would never bite", I am gonna let 'em have it. Tell my arms, my stomach, my dead cat, and my six other dead pet friends that stupid line, please. How bout one of my students? Her dog got out of his enclosure in her house and ripped apart her rabbit's cage and then ate it. She had him x-rayed him after she got home and found the bloody disaster. We saw the poor dead bunny's bones in his stomach.
