Okay, I am going to try to make this as short as possible..
I HATE MY CAT!
Reasons why:
1. She does not cover up her waste in the litter box, so my whole apartment smells STRONGLY of poop.
2. She steps in her fresh poop and gets it all over the kitchen floor and carpet of the living room at least 4 times a week.
3. She is mean. Whenever me or my fiance try to pet her she usually scratches us or bites us. It is not play either. She puts her ears back, switches her tail, and gets this crazy look in her eyes that says "I mean business". Even though she is the one who comes up to us.
4. Any time I am in the kitchen she is yelling at me. Even though her food and water is full and even when I just gave her can food.
5. She claws on EVERYTHING. I get onto her, and she will look right at me and do it again until I physically jump up and shoo her away.
6. She pukes on the bed all the time, and ONLY on the bed.
7. I cannot have my almost 5 month old son around her or she will swat at him or glare at him the whole time he is around. I am afraid she is going to attack him when he starts to crawl.
8. She is always fighting to get into my sons room, going as far as to attack our legs to get past (which is intolerable when we are trying to sneak out after spending several hours to get him to sleep). We do not let her in because we do not trust her with our son and she could kill him on accident (she always jumps right in his crib and I have to wash the sheets every time because she is so nasty).
9. She thinks she owns everything. I have a very hard time typing on the computer because the desk is suddenly "her spot" and she will knock off everything so she can sit there. And no matter how many times I push here away she comes right back.
If it was me, kitty would be taking a long drive into the woods.
I hate to tell you to get rid of your cat, because if you took her to a shelter, she would most likely be euthanized as they won't adopt out a problem cat. But if she is aggressive around your baby son....and you can't have cat poop on your carpets when you have a baby crawling around....it's time to get rid of your cat.
As for the scratching thing, get this fabric freshener that smells like lemons and oranges. Cats don't like citrus smells or flavors. I use that stuff on my couch. It's usually found in pet stores like Petco, and it's not really too expensive.
*If you don't mind that kind of smell
As for the baby thing, just keep it out. If it's not too hard, put it in the bathroom and close the door. Let it out when you are finished with putting the child to sleep.
I know how busy some parents can be just handling their own children. So if that stuff is just too hard for you to handle, give the cat up to someone who has the time for it.
i hate your cat especially simply because your son could get seriously hurt and it looks lie its costing you a lot of money
have it adopted.
if all else fails simply drive into the closest city and release it there.
i can recommend a "miniature Yorkshire Terrier" as a pet, they are small, almost all of them are very tolerant to children and friendly
i have one and she is very lively (she is 15/16 years old) and unconditionally loyal.
i hope this helped you with your problem =)
