ok, so, i have this friend (I'm male and shes female)((i can already hear your tutting)) but i have a huge crush on her and have a strong feeling she feels the same way, I've always been confident with the opposite sex but with her its different, i almost treat her like one of the guys and only recently decided i should see what happens if i try it on with her, but whenever i get close she does the guy thing and hits me, playfully of course but it puts me off, she always seems to go for the special area, which to be honest i don't know if it is good or bad, i haven't actually told her i feel this way, i had it in my mind i would just do it all romantically but whenever i want to try I'm surrounded with her and my friends or she starts the punchie kickie stuff, not good.
Do you think it's normal?

It is likely that she knows how you feel about her and that she is just putting you off. She may not want to muck up your friendship. It is hard to go from friend to girlfriend and back again if things don't work out. Ask her out if you must but be ready for the whole I think of you as a brother thing.

I say she feels the same way. She is probably a tom boy type. She is expressing her nervousness in much the same way a guy would if they didn't want to let their feelings known.

I say when she punches you punch her arm or leg back and tell her how you feel. right away. When you do that she might let down her emotional guard for a moment. Also she will almost certainly play the "i don't want to screw up our friendship" card. Tell her that you feel so strongly about her that you can't let the feelings go any longer. If she does feel the same she will most likely give in. If not sorry dude your friendship will be awkward.

Aww that's so sweet, the whole friends/something more thing. Well I think you should definitely tell her or come on a bit stronger, OR you should go for it altogether (and pretend it was a spur of the moment thing if rejection comes [which I hope doesn't])

i think its that kinda love where you want it to happen but your afraid of wat the results could be. i say go for it. if its meant to be itll happen. if it doesnt work then itll only make you better friends... i think

Ive been in the same situation before, my mate really liked me (im the chick lol) and he told me and i didnt feel the same but we are still really good friends, if she really values your friendship but doesnt feel the same, you'll remain good friends.... Good Luck

Ill bet, she gets nervious when shes around you. You say your good friend right? Well after she 'hits kicks' and you act like 'umm i dont like that very much but w/e' (not outloud of course) does she get an embarassed look in her eyes? If so its probably nerves, if not...well yea it still prob is but...Well if your surrounded by friends ALL the time then..like, get her well..even 7 feet away from them and aw2ay from the 'friends' convo, and tell her omg! come here quick! get her oh..somwhere indistinct, where she CANT see her friends, even if its just because her back is to them (as long as they cant hear) and well...go for it! 4get the hitten nd kicken if she does it..HURRY! dont let her get back to them!

Well, this must be hard on you. All you need to do is tell her you need to talk to her someplace private and tell her how you feel. Although this might not work, try it. If this doesnt work, maybe move on if she doesnt like you?

Take your time. You dont want her to mis read your nervousness for something else. Just be you, the guy that she likes in the first place and the rest will follow. you dont want to mess up a good friendship by making a move too soon. If she feels the same way then its only a matter of time before she makes it obvious she feels the same. And if she doesnt dont freak out. remember girls think different then we do. she might want you just as bad but she honestly might not want to take a chance a losing what you guys already have. So be yourself and youll get your answer.

Being a Tomboy like this girl and doing exactly what youve described here with my bestfriend (boy) yeh she most definantly likes you, but has issues with opening up or letting her feminine side out. The punching and all that is just her way of trying to touch you without her feelings be known to the general public, perhaps even to you. Not all girls are the kissy, lovey-dovey types, bit as far as i can see: thats a good thing. =3

I've had this experience before, with a crush I had for six years. Let me tell you, I recommend you make a choice soon as you are able too, and if your like me, you'll find an excuse not to say anything to her because its difficult. Either decide to tell her how you feel, or decide to be friends from there on out and try to focus on someone else. After six years I finally broke down and told the girl how I felt, and even though she rejected me, and I was very upset (on an epic level) after some time I was very relieved and able to go on with my life. (note, do not avoid all people if things go back, its best to go on and try to get back into activities with friends, you'll recover much faster)
