So, I really want to do The World's Greatest Shave this year. A close friend and I think that we should do it together. But, people keep telling me that I shouldn't do it. One of my friends said to me the other day "No!! You have gorgeous hair, don't do it. There are other ways to raise money for charity, than getting rid of your hair!".
You see, I'm a teenage girl. Shaving my head would be a really big thing for me because I'm already really self-conscious. But I figure that it's just hair......it'll grow back! It's something that I feel really strongly about. I've lost many people in my life to diseases like cancer. My uncle, my grandfather and my nan's sisters all passed away due to different forms of cancer. And my mother got diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago and is starting chemotherapy soon. So doing this is quite a personal thing for me, which just makes me want to it more.
But with people telling me not to, I keep second-guessing myself and I'm not sure what to do.
What do you guys think? Should I get involved and shave my head??
And IIN for people to try to stop me doing something for charity?

I'm obviously in favour of your doing this but you may want to invest in a swimming cap the same colour as your skin, so you can see in advance how you are going to look.
I'm quite a self-consicious person, so I'm not sure on how I'm going to feel about other peoples judgement if I do go ahead with it. But that's a really great idea
A lot of the people at my school are quite judgemental and rude, but I'm thinking that I might actually do it. Especially cause my mums about to start chemo. As well as raising money for others, I want to show her that she's not alone. But knowing me, I'll probably end up crying while it's happening..........
